The Inn at River Landing 131 River Village Place, Wallace, NC 28466

"We were happy to have the package deal, 2 nights stay, Dec 30-31, 2023, with tickets to NYE celebration next door. The room was clean and comfortable, except the ventilator in the bathroom, which was on when the light was on, was so loud, I turned on the light inside the room rather than the bathroom light most of the time. Two people knocked on the door to clean the room before we left Dec 31st and didn't return, and the floor was sandy (from our shoes), and it was impossible not to get the sand on the sheet. A staff member also opened the door on the 1st while I was still in the room, before checkout time. The "bold" coffee was in the "regular" coffee container both mornings, the pancake grill was on the counter but covered with other items, there was no microwave to heat the packaged cinnamon rolls and muffins. The eggs, sausage, gravy, and biscuits were good."

"Stayed three nights at the Inn.. Room was neat & clean, but sink didn't drain and water damage to floor in front of window causing soft spot.. staff very nice and helpful... But, got up to head back to PA and someone had taken a hole saw and cut a hole in our gas tank.. there are NO security cameras in the parking areas of the hotel.."

"Shenita was a wonderful person at the front desk. She is kind considerate and a genuinely friendly person. My whole family and wedding party loves her. She made our stay so much better. She is an excellent person who knows customer service. The 2 ladies at the breakfast were very nice and helpful and very sweet to speak with. Great service they provided also."

"The room did not have carpets - great. The a/c unit was noisy. They painted the tiles in the bathroom as an update - good idea to save money. Should have put the money in a toilet that is at a good height."

"We've been coming here for 20 years, the entire hotel is mold and mildew infested. They "renovated" by painting walls and putting laminate floors down, but behind the walls there's mold from the hurricanes that hit. Floors one and two smell horrific. Of course, there's no accommodations near River Landing, so anyone who is having a wedding is going to stay in this dump. This used to be a Holiday inn Express and that was changed to "The inn at River landing" which doesn't really show nicely to the River landing name when you need a mask to breathe clean air in your guest room. The staff, however, is excellent and they are very kind and courteous. Getting rid of the warm cinnamon buns in the morning is another cost savings by River landing which is surprising considering they print money there. Bottom line, if you're having a wedding at River landing you have no choice but to stay here. Just make sure no one with any breathing problems is in your party because they probably will end up coughing up a lung on the dance floor."
