"Shrubby bald with beautiful Rhododendrons, blueberries, mountain ashe, wild strawberries are at the summit of the moderate trail. Fresh mountain spring fed fountain, restrooms, breathtaking overlook."
"It was our 1st time here and we Loved it !! The views are AMAZING, There's a quaint little gift shop ,and multiple CLEAN Porta John's for those that have to " relieve " themselves ( the water wasn't working for the gardens gift shop restrooms ).. The facilities along the Blue Ridge are closed from Oct 31st till May 1st , through winter.. Amazing Photo opps here ... It's truly " God's Country "‼️"
"Craggy Gardens is beautiful this time of year. It's one of my favorite places to shoot. If you go early in the morning, it is very chilly from October thru March. Often, there will be a heavy mist, but it makes for amazing pictures. Stay on the trails, however, or you will be told to stay on the path by park staff. It's for your safety, so don't take unnecessary chances."
"We thoroughly enjoyed ourself here. The landscape up so high is very interesting. If you take the little hike up to the top you have a 360 view of the most breathtaking mountains. But even from the parking lot you have gorgeous views. The hike is not far, and doesn’t take very long to go all the way. There’s a few benches at the top and the perfect place to watch the sun set. Definitely make this trip!!"
"Such a beautiful stop right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Very beautiful hike. We did the Craggy Gardens trail from the visitor center/parking lot to the picnic area and back. If you are super short on time, you can do a quick hike to the covered rest area, then as you leave the covered area, turn left up the stairs and you will come to a clearing with wildflowers and beautiful Mountain views as shown in the pictures. To go farther to the picnic area, after the covered rest area, go straight and it’s almost an all downhill hike to the picnic area (which means all uphill on the way back). We all agreed we wanted to go back and do some more hikes there and explore when we had more time."
