"The store is great with a good selection and clean. The staff is helpful and kind. I've been shopping there a while and wanted to say something"
"Went there to cash 2 payroll checks this morning and caught attitude immediately from the black woman at customer service desk who had cashed my checks a few weeks prior. First she said they didn't cash personal checks, which I wasn't trying to do. One of the checks was for tip-share and was hand-written by the owner of the company I work for. Then she said she couldn't accept my temporary, state-issued ID, which another clerk accepted on Monday of this week, no problem. I told her that the check-cashing policy must change from day-to-day, and that I would go somewhere else to cash my check. And I would also go elsewhere to buy groceries from now on. My family and I have shopped there for decades and spent thousand of dollars at this location. But no longer. I refuse to do commerce with any business who has one or more employees who are rude, condescending and project their personal problems on customers who are there to spend money. I called the manager to inform him of this. Harris Teeter is over-priced anyway, and very often their produce is in sad shape and in worse condition than what you might find at Food Lion or even WalMart."
"I only come here sporadically because I live kind of far away, but I usually have good experiences. But today was a rough one. Maybe I'm just hormonal from being 34 weeks pregnant, but I was so frustrated. I ordered 24 cupcakes, 1 veggie tray, and 1 fruit tray for my baby shower. I went over to the bakery to pick up, and the lady didn't seem very happy to start off with. She gave me the cupcakes and told me I'd have to go to produce to pick up the trays. I go over there, and there's a sign that says something like, "Our associate isn't at the desk right now. Please seek assistance." But no one was in sight. I went to customer service and explained everything. She didn't seem too happy either. She told me to go to the sandwich/deli section. So I went back over there, and the gentleman told me it would be over in produce. I decided to just go and try one more time and see if I could find a near by associate, no such luck. I found a cashier back up at the front, and she took me back to customer service. The customer service employee seemed even more annoyed this time, and said for me to go to produce. I said no one was there, she said just to go over there and find somebody. I went back over there and decided to see if there were any fruit/veggie trays I could just buy from the store, because I was so frustrated at that point. I also had my 2 yr old in the cart with me, and she was getting antsy. But unfortunately the trays available were smaller than what I needed. So I kept looking for an associate, found no one. I went all the way back to the meat department, I said I was sorry to bother them and explained everything. Thankfully, one of the meat department associates helped me and actually went behind the flower/produce counter to retrieve my order. He checked my name and gave me my order. Everything looked great and I'm sure it will taste great. But I just felt that was ridiculous, that no one was willing to call an associate over there to help me, when I told every single person I talked to that there was no associate over there. I have worked many jobs in the service industry, so I understand people have bad days, busy days, etc. But it wasn't even busy in the store. I think in the future they might need to work on communication a little better."
"Awesome shopping experience every time I come here. They keep everything fully stocked and there are great, many choices. One of the best things is the fresh seafood and Meats. The deli is awesome as well as the bakery. A little more expensive than other places but worth it on my opinion."
"Our go-to grocery store. Great selection. Everything always in stock. Employees are friendly. Deli is always moving fast. Floors are well kept. Food items always pushed to front of shelf. Great parking. Busy on a Sunday and calm during the week. Stop on by and Give it a shot!"
