"We chose Southern Coals to cater our daughters wedding reception in September. They were recommended by a friend & we were not disappointed. The only downfall was we had to arrange to have the food picked up because they were already booked to cater another event. We chose the pulled pork, chicken, mac & cheese, baked beans, corn bread & banana pudding. We also ordered pies for the desserts because my daughter & her husband are not cake people. We had guests complimenting the food & desserts all evening. The price point was fair & correspondence with the catering manager ran smoothly. Highly recommend & will be using again if we need catering in the future."

"My first impression of the restaurant I was not impressed! The portion for the price one pay is ridiculous. I ordered potatoes for one of my sides & it was horrible with no taste. The ribs are dry but durable. The brisket was good but what you pay for the small portions is not worth the trip. Listen people go to Sam Jones in Greenville or Raleigh NC. This restaurant offers no military or police officers discounts. I paid $67.00 for 3 people which is totally ridiculous & it felt like we had a light lunch! The dining tables were all dirty & I had to clean mine before we could eat. It seems as though it wasn’t a problem with the establishment having dirty tables."

"I picked this place simply on the reviews. First impression: the restaurant was clean and tidy. The inside had a heavy smell of wood smoke and BBQ, it was pleasant and befitting. I asked the server for a recommendation due to it being my first time here. He recommended the sampler (brisket, ribs and pulled pork). Price was a little above average at $20+tax. The food came out fast, less then 5min. The portions were appropriate and the food was great. The brisket was the star of the show!! Highly recommend Clean store Fast service delicious BBQ A+"

"Went here for lunch on a Friday. Wait time to order was not bad and prices were good for the food options. We got our food in a timely manner. Quality of food was not bad, flavors could be better of the meats. Overall though, the meat and side selections were good and restaurant atmosphere was appropriate for style of food."

"Went here Saturday afternoon. Service was fast, friendly and professional. The reasturant was clean. The food we got; smoked chicken, brisket, onion rings and fried okra was very good. The mac and cheese was very plain and could definitely be improved. Will definitely be back to eat here again."
