Reviews
"This review was moved from another account. This Goodwill had an almost nonexistent electronics selection. When I went on October 9th, 2023, the only electronics were a cheap turntable and a Blu-Ray player. It appears not a lot of electronics are donated here."
"I have a very large family and thrifting has always been our go to method of keeping everyone clothed affordably. I recently visited this location for the first time. Upon walking in I looked around to see if I could find some kind of price chart, I noticed it was hung on the wall but it was covered with a piece of paper. I asked one of the employees walking around how much things are like shirts and jeans. She quickly responded "You're the first person to ever ask me that.". Pretty confused by her reply, I jokingly said "That's strange people would buy things in a store without knowing how much things cost, I'm not made of money so I like to know what I'm spending.". Still don't have my answer yet and she goes on this tirade about how they're raising prices to deter people who buy clothes to resell because they come in and shop for hours. It's now been a few minutes, still no idea how much anything costs, I just know that everything now costs more then it did before and people don't look at prices there. It was such a bizarre interaction, I cut it short and just said "Alright thanks" and started looking through the racks. A few minutes go by and I notice this lady is intensely staring at me like a police detective. Eventually I just felt so uncomfortable I left."
"This store didn't offer a 50% off color tag day. Items were in a large bin that you had to pick through. Clothes were grouped together by color not size."
"Goodwill is a great concept thrift store, used and sometimes new items are donated and sold back to the public. The local stores are clean and for the most part organized. Customer service is hit and miss. Services provided is adequate but could be improved. Prices have increased and some items are over priced causing a slight head turn when you look at posted items or pick up individual items that are marked. I hear a lot of comparison to Department stores, other retail stores , and Goodwill prices. Complaints are Goodwill prices can sometimes reflect more than what you may pay at some of the other retail stores, Due to these stores offer sale and clearance items. You also now have to provide your own bags as well to put purchased merchandise in. When checking out you will also be asked if you want to round up your total amount to donate to their food bank. You don't have to do it it's just an option they give. It can sometimes feel like less of a bargain shopping experience when you shop here but If you shop consciously with the understanding that this is an actual thrift store and use your phone to Google items to make sure you not overpaying for used merchandise you should find good deals. With that said of the two locations in Fayetteville, Cliffdale Rd location seems to provide a better selection of merchandise. There is a no return policy as well, so test your appliances and carefully inspect your merchandise."
"I had a perfectly good changing table for a baby I tried to donate. Not a scratch. People in need always need baby stuff… Employee: “We don’t take no baby stuff. Mmm Mmm, we don’t.” Seemed like 10 minutes from closing was the real reason - and I wasn’t looking for a receipt either way, so that blew me away. I had donated two other items for babies approximately 25 hours before at the same location. I had carried the stuff in personally and observed other stuff for babies that had also been dropped off. I’ve donated to goodwill every year of my adult life. I wore a ton of clothes and shoes from Goodwill when I was a child. I’m very surprised if I’m dropping off really good quality baby furniture that they don’t accept it. Very strange."
