"Beautifully crafted, delicious nigiri. If you’re fine with a limited chef’s choice kind of menu, you’ll love Sushi Mon! The venue is small but sophisticated. Perfect for a business lunch or dinner date. The drink options are chef’s kiss as well."
"There's nothing to complain about when it comes to the food here. On our first visit, we chose from the lunch menu, which was both appealing to the eye and offered healthy, tasty options. For those who are particularly fond of sashimi, the Chirashi and Mon Bento come highly recommended. The Chirashi was a delight, featuring a variety of fresh fish and was definitely worth its $23 price tag. Ordering a hot bowl of soup can be especially comforting during winter. Initially, I opted for a salad but soon switched to a unique soup, a rarity in other places, which even inspired me to experiment with a salmon soup recipe in my kitchen. The restaurant's location in a new building adds to its charm, providing a fresh and spacious ambiance, especially enjoyable when dining outdoors."
"They don't do reservations so it's first come, first serve. You can put your name on the waitlist online so, if you time it right, you won't have to wait for too long. They serve delicious cuts of fish and their food presentation is excellent."
"I had an extraordinary dining experience at Sushi Mon. The sushi was not just good; it surpassed the average sushi you'd find elsewhere. The attention to detail on my plate was truly remarkable, making it a gourmet experience. The cozy atmosphere added to the overall enjoyment, and the staff's friendliness was exceptional. This place is a hidden gem with a low-key vibe and a beautiful interior. If you are a sushi lover you will not be disappointed!"
"Having been to their old location once, wasn’t impressed. So I thought I should give another shot to the new one. It turned out even more disappointing. First, food. 24h Pork belly was so dry and tasted nothing special. Kiss of fire roll, Oh My God. Did Japanese know how you guys ruined sushi like that? Pure shock. The lion king roll was good, the only thing I would recommend. Tamago, two tiny pieces of soufflé cake, cost $5. I was expecting the real tamagoyaki. Beer was okay; sake was not. Service was soso slow. We waited 20min for the black cod; then she brought us Kama. Based on the overall experience, we chose to cancel that dish. Still feeling hungry after a $100 dinner…… We didn’t make a reservation so we were seated outside. There were a group of people sitting on the other side, and they were talking and laughing so loudly as if no one existed except themselves. Didn’t go inside so can’t say anything about the indoor ambiance. It is such a shame that this restaurant has 4.7 rating on Google. Raleigh desperately needs a nice Japanese restaurant."
