"Expensive and underwhelming, most other local breakfast spots surpass this Famous Toastery hands down. The food was lacking in quality, taste, and portion-to-price. The service is based on the "everyone is your server" model which all but guarantees having to explain the same thing to multiple people and low effort all around. $75 for 2 adults and 3 kids before tip (which prompts at a minimum of 20%) felt like a rip off. We will not be returning or recommending this restaurant in the future."

"Finally tried Famous Toastery, which is a top-rated franchise located in Waverly Place. Not the biggest or best breakfast around. The food was good, but not excellent. Everything is made fresh, nothing frozen. You can expect to spend around $30 for breakfast, including the tip. They have a unique approach to their service, which is that every server is your server. If you need something, you can ask anyone. I’m not sure whether this means you get more unwanted attention or less focused attention, but the service has been fairly good both times I’ve been there (although it’s never been busy when I’ve been there)."

"The place was super cute & we were seated as soon as we walked in which is rare for a Sunday morning. I ordered the breakfast bowl with chorizo & gravy & my husband ordered the breakfast hash. The corned beef tasted really good! The flavors in the breakfast bowl were amazing, but the potatoes did not appear to be cooked with those flavors, so they just tasted boiled (not even peppered) which kind of disconnected the dish. They have a lot of breakfast options from Benedict’s to flapjacks - so I think It would be worth trying a different dish! The sourdough toast was super yummy though!! Also, the coffee would be worth going back for :)"

"Convenient location with fast service. The food was nothing out of the ordinary but still tasted great, would highly recommend the eggs benedict. Only complaint is that prices were a bit to high for what we got."

"A decently good breakfast option if you're stopping by Waverly. My eggs were done just runny enough and the potatoes are to die for -- tasty and savoury without relying on too much salt. There's also a killer fresh-squeezed orange juice machine. Sadly our flapjacks were a bit overdone, a bit dry, and lacking a bit of their own flavour. They do act as an excellent vehicle for syrup though, soaking it up like no one's business. Everything else kind of falls into that same pattern. The restaurant itself is clean and neat, but lacks its own distinct character (bonus points for clean toilets though!). Service was nice, polite, and friendly, but didn't linger long enough or feel thorough enough to really be stellar (there was always a feeling of rush-rush, even though we were in the calm before the late morning wave). None of this really matters if you're coming here in a party of four or more during the crowded hours, when you're happy to have the table and everyone's company as the main course. The good food will make a great background for that, it's just missing that "little bit" to draw you back in when you have time to ask "what makes you famous?"."
