Shagger Jacks

"First time trying Shagger Jacks last night and I know we will return next season. It had a nice welcoming atmosphere, the staff was great, the food was delicious and the drinks were strong. We had chicken dip as well as fried pickles for an appetizer and the portions were huge! We could have made that our meal. But we ordered the island bowls and they were simply delicious! If you haven’t been, shagger jacks is definitely a hidden gem on oak island."

"We ate at Shagger Jack's two out of the three nights we stayed at Oak Island. The food was fantastic. The first night we got wings and Bayou Seafood Pasta, OMG! Shrimp, bay scallops and sausage with a scrumptious cream sauce and pasta. Too good for words! The next night it was another order of wings, Shrimp grilled on a skewer with this amazing dipping sauce and a side of smoked gouda potatoes...yummy. it is a laid back restaurant and it has a bar as well. I would definitely make a stop there. Word of advice, get there early. It gets pretty busy starting around 4pm. Enjoy!"

"Our food and service was amazing. We came on a Saturday eve - expecting a wait as we had a part of 7 (3 kiddos!). We were sat immediately and able to put in kids orders to keep our little ones occupied! Our server was kind, attentive, and beyond helpful. Our appetizers & kids meals came out SO fast and the serving sizes of our meals were huge! I had shrimp tacos & Gouda potatoes (to die for) and my husband loved the shrimp and grits. We have always had a wonderful experience here and highly recommend eating here for dinner !!"

"Came here for dinner on a Friday night. It was crowded, which we expected. We had to wait about 45 minutes for a table. Fortunately they have an outdoor bar to keep you occupied while you wait. The food was not bad, but I wouldn’t say it was good either. The oyster Po Boy had an odd taste, but that may just be because they are not in season. The fries and the fried pickles did not seem like they’d been fried long enough. The service was decent and the place was clean."
