"Outstanding Texas-style barbecue. The rating is completely accurate and well-deserved. Some of the best sausage, ribs and brisket I’ve ever eaten. I drove about 3 hours and arrived 15 minutes before they opened and don’t regret it! They were sold out of some specials by the time I got to the counter but I did snag some great pork belly. They’ve got to work on their efficiency— the almost 4 hour wait was a major concern."
"The reviews do not lie, nor does the line every Saturday—hot, cold, rain, you name it and people will still wait for good reason. From the meat to the sides and desserts, Jon G’s does not fail. Jon G’s is everything that makes America great: finding a passion, perfecting it and making a name for yourself. Do not miss this place!"
"Best que I’ve ever had. Born and raised in the Carolina’s I consider myself a barbecue connoisseur… been eating Que my entire life from here to Texas and everywhere in between. Tried multiple places in Austin, St. Louis, Tennessee. This is the best… by far. Everything is made with love. They treat everyone there like family you can taste the love in every bite with every dish on that menu. Long lines are part of the experience that make the food taste even better. GOOD LAWD!!"
"This place is worth the hype!! Get there early, bring your lawn chairs, pack a cooler with snacks and some drinks and just enjoy the vibes while you wait! We got there around 8:50am and approx. 30 people were ahead of us. We enjoyed the weather and chatting with people. The staff made us comfortable with tents, free beer and some small bites for sale from their food truck. At 11am the place opened and the line moved at a good pace. At 12:19pm we were inside and ordering by 12:30! We ordered over $200 worth food! all of it was amazing! We got the must have brisket, pork ribs, bacon burnt ends, sausage links, pork chop and a bunch of sides!! It is worth the wait, the money, and worth the experience!!! Clear your schedule for a Saturday and make a day of it! We had a blast and enjoyed the food!"
"Yes there are long lines. YES IT IS WORTH IT! Finally made it to the promised land and it was worth the hype! Delicious, homemade bbq and sides were all perfect. We had the brisket, pulled pork, pork belly burnt ends, and smoked turkey as our proteins and Mac & Cheese, Cheese Grits, Tater Tot Casserole, Street Corn salad, and Cherry Cobbler (aka Fruit Crunch) for dessert. You could taste the love in every bite. Jon G and family go out of their way to make sure the guests are comfortable by offering beverages and setting up tents and umbrellas for the folks in line. Be sure to say hi and snap a pic with the fam when they walk by. But everyone is there for the BBQ and it was amazing. Perfectly smoked and tender. Be sure to try the brisket and ask for some extra bark."
