"Our meeting with Dr Huron was incredibly disappointing. She was dismissive and judgmental and offered absolutely no meaningful feedback, other than suggesting we put our child on “time out” more. In essence, she suggested that we were not stringent enough disciplinarians for our child, even after we took the time to detail countless behavioral strategies that we tried to use and were unsuccessful. She did not seem to hear or understand the crisis we were in with our child, which was shocking considering her title and expertise. We found out a year and a half later that our child who supposedly just “needed more time outs” is on the autism spectrum and also has sensory issues. It would have been great to have received this diagnosis from Dr Huron a year and a half earlier rather than simply being written off as weak parents."
