Hackensack University Medical Center Emergency Room

"So I went to the er due to heavy nose bleed and puking vomit. It was full house when I arrived. I was on a bed in the hallway. Techs came about to check my stats, and didn't see er doc until 2 hours later. I was not in pain, just needed lots of tissue to wipe the blood. Guess if I was in pain, it would have been torture. My family stopped by to give me some snack and water. So for people who are alone, this would be suffering. I stayed overnight, and they fed me breakfast and lunch. I was still in the hallway looking like a homeless bag lady, but I was comfortable in my hospital rolling bed and had plenty of tissues so I was content. Also, hackensack has all these young doctors, nurses and staff who are fit, friendly and good looking! One of the male nurses even smelled nice! Doctors and nurses were apologetic for the delay, but I forgave them because they were so sweet and kind to me. I'll definitely come back here, but bringing pain meds just in case."

"Just a giant warehousing facility where most patients spend most of their time in hallways, not rooms. Nurses vary in caring and doctors are rarely seen. Took 6 hours to get an xray. Forget about getting fed anything. Temperature is kept very cold so dress like you’re going outside on a snowy winter day You hear every noise so sleep is impossible. If you are keeping a spouse company you are ignored. I cannot believe Holy Name could be worse"

"This is a review of the Emergency Room. If I could put zero starts I absolutely would. I experienced the absolute inhumane treatment. I was left in a hallway for two full days without a pillow, IV fluids, water, any type of food. I was seen by so many residents and received so much conflicting information. I was parked next to the nurses station where they were loudly chatting about all their patients, laughing and having a great time. After I finally got out of there, none of the doctors or nurses called to see how I was doing I only received a robo call. I will never go to this hospital again."
