"im honestly disgusted by the professionalism, if you can even call what this lady did professional. i was seeing artresia fryar for 10 months for severe childhood abuse related CPTSD. we had a great relationship over the 10 months i had seen her in sessions. she was always polite in person and very welcoming. though, she lacked to question-ask and rarely gave me options for coping skills, since no one else would see me, i accepted what she could offer me clinically. after having to cancel an appointment for a death in the family, she refused to schedule me a time for when i knew id be back home for, and requested that i contact her when im back for an appointment instead. i do realize due to having depression as well as recently diagnosed ADHD, my attention to messaging her was poor. (hence my request of making a new appointment before i left) however, when i did message her asking about my normally allotted appointment time, she notified me that my spot had been taken. and when i supplied my availability which has been the same since my last cancellation, she told me our schedules just ‘didnt line up’ i was extremely let down by her professionalism and candor which i assumed therapists sort of required. i was cut off without so much as a goodbye session to cope with the loss of losing yet another therapist who knows how abused i was and how vulnerable i was and how much i needed someone to talk to. no empathy, no compassion, no inch of guilt came from artresia through her text messages to me the past month or so. i would highly suggest going else where for help. whether that be someone else in the office (never worked with anyone else) or some where different completely. if you do work with artresia fryar, please be aware she may just drop you off the face of her earth. below is the time line of the text messages and a rough description of each, i do have the texts still, but again being the more professional one in this relationship, i decided just paraphrasing was better for everyone involved. first contact with artresia after family member passed: dated oct. 24th asked for an appointment artresia first contact with me after family member died: dated oct. 26th gives me an appointment time that doesnt work for me me; SAME DAY: i ask if there are any other openings? artresia: dated oct. 28 asks for my availability me; SAME DAY: gives all my availability 13 days later me: dated nov. 9 expresses my feelings of being ignored by my health care professional and that im let down that IM the one messaging again. says i will be looking for new therapist due to her neglect related to communicating with HER PATIENT. artresia, SAME DAY*: sorry you feel that way, our schedules dont align. hope you find a new therapist who can help you. *oh? she CAN respond in the same day.."
