"I visited Dr Maria Leon and it was a 3/5 average visit. She’s a very busy doctor and it was pretty apparent during our visit that she didn’t really have time for our appointment. She left the room twice and was looking at her phone a lot: she Probably had a baby to deliver though she didn’t offer a real excuse so I wouldn’t know. On top of that, I primarily went to address my fibroids and instead of telling my treatment options and walking me through them, Dr Leon proceeded to speed through asking me about children and telling me about how surgery would ruin my ability to have children even though that was not a priority for me. She didn’t ask about painful intercourse or how pain was interfering with my life or give me a platform for expressing what my concerns/priorities were. Again, she was very busy and I’m a young woman so that could be why. I went to Viva Eve in Manhattan after my visits and found out that there actually are non invasive options for surgery that the Dr Leon never told me about. I don’t know if she assumed I couldn’t afford those treatments or simply underestimated the amount of pain I was in as doctors often do with black women. I can’t be sure but I just want to say if you are not pregnant or planning to be, but fibroids are interfering with your life, consider going to Viva Eve."

"Dr Maria Leon is amazing she did my procedure on September 21 for my Leep not only did she do a great job she was caring and she told me everything that would happen the day of my surgery and it was a success im grateful I found such an amazing gyn who actually cares about her patients."
