"I lived here when this was an Equity building so my review pertains to that management company. First, the best feature was the neighborhood. Lincoln Square is very safe, quiet and close to transit. The building was solid, so the apartments were quiet. However, there were chronic issues that never got addressed — packages left unsecured and repeatedly lost, one or two of four elevators out virtually the entire two years I lived there. I had a ceiling leaking rainwater in my bedroom that they took six weeks to repair. I paid on time every month for two years, then they raised my rent 30% — bringing it above the market rate for the interior (laminate floors and cheaper appliances). This forced me to move, and still they had the nerve to keep some of my security deposit. The apartment was very clean, yet they claimed it cost $200 to prep for the next tenant, who ended up paying less rent than they had demanded of me. Left a bad taste in my mouth and I would never rent from Equity property management."
"Worst ever experience in NYC. Can you imagine you spent much time coming to an appointment but the leasing agent never show up? Evan Osur, he is an outside leasing agent. He will not show up the appointment ."
"Pros: leasing office, concierge is nice. I lived there for a year. I rented without checking the place first and I realized the first apartment didn’t have much natural light. I asked for a change of unit and they helped me with that. The rent was decent The location was near a park, a grocery store and a wine shop. Amenities are ok. Cons: rent keeps getting more expensive. It is kinda far from the subway, like 10mins walking with it was a lot for me in the winter. And it felt like a lot of walking to go to a coffee shop…Since its closer to the river, there was more wind so it was challenging going home in the winter."
"The reason moving trucks are at this bldg several times weekly is bc of the mass EXODUS of its tenants. From the moment A&E bought 160, they completely destroyed it: •Elevators are consistently out of service for WEEKS at a time; •Common areas, elevators and hallways are filthy; •Visitors and deliveries aren’t screened/announced; •Strangers are allowed to freely enter the bldg; •No permanent doorman on post; •24hr security has been removed; •Repairs and maintenance are deplorable; The best part: They refuse to negotiate their insane rent increases. We are THRILLED to have just moved out of this overpriced, horribly managed dumpster."
"It’s OK for corporate housing, but not a good place to live. A lot of instability in the building and management doesn’t respond when repairs are needed. Elevators are often out. Riverside park is nice but you have the roar of Westside Highway, can be heard from apartments. There are much nicer places in Lincoln Square."
