Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital

"The only reason I go here is because it’s across the street from my home. Security, front desk, nurses and doctors (except for maybe 1 or 2 doctors) are very unprofessional. Security and front desk talks about you as you’re sitting in the waiting room - so you can hear them. I had a doctor there who literally asked me why I was there and then tried to discharge me after I explained without any assessment, labs, or test. If it’s not an emergency don’t go there. Even if it is an emergency try to go to another hospital."

"My grandma came into the ED at 2:30pm for heart failure, her bnp was 5,000. It’s 8:30 pm and they just put a IV line in her but no fluids. Dr said she wanting for labs to come back, meanwhile her body is filled with fluid."

"I wish I could give it one star . I went because it was the closest ER to my apt. They discharged me with out looking at the problem I went in for . I ended up passing out on the streets to just have been taken back by an ambulance. You could tell the frustration in the nurses and sonogram techs faces that they new what they had to do , but because they still thought I did not have insurance, they treated me like garbage even sending me home after a blood transfusion within a couple of hours . I would never go to this hospital or recommend anyone to go to this hospital ! Worse experience of my life."

"I had a scooter accident in Mount Vernon. I ended up going to Mount Vernon hospital to find out that my collar bone was broken along with a couple of ribs, they said that they couldn't do anything right away and I would need to go to montefiori new Rochelle8:45 AM on Mon for surgery. However, if the pain got worse, go to emergency room. I ended up going to the emergency room that night. The pain was bad After a reasonable wait, I was finally triaged and taken up to room 408 given pain killers and that pretty much put me to sleep. was woken by a white lady wearing all black who claimed to be the headnurse or in charge. telling me. She was discharging me from the hospital I was not enough. pain to stay.i told her what happened to me early that day and that the surgeon had told me to come to the hospital if the pain was not tolerable and go to the ER. She said that she did not believe me.I got very upset. And she said that she's not giving me anymore medications or keeping me in her hospital. She eventually got a call from my surgeon who told her. I need to be there. She did not apologize, and she just walked away after trying to throw me out of the hospital. I did. However, get up. Get dressed and try to leave. I was already almost at the door to which the security told me. No, no, no, where are you going? And a real nurse told me I don't have to leave. I was then taken up to room 408. Once on the floor I was placed in a room and put on the back burner for about an hour without any real attention. When I would use the call button. I realized that it was being ignored or turned off.. While I was pacing around in my robe witqh my rear. Hanging out trying to help with the pain a lady. I'm assuming a nurse's aid very short With long fake hair. said in Jamaican Patwas I wonder where that crazy man ago? Or something to that effect. I repeated to her what she just said to me and told her that I don't appreciate that. She started laughing and walked away. I was upset by that statement. And I was outside of my room talking. An African gentleman who was pushing a cart working there. said to me, don't say that you have no right. These are good people. I told him mind your own business. Because you don't know what she said to me. My mother is Jamaican and I understand what she said . I wanted to file a complaint against her right away. So I went to the front desk. They basically stonewalled me. So I attempted to go to the first floor I was in my robe with my butt hanging out. I got down there. Security, got me and brought me back up to the fourth floor I wanted to leave. I did not feel safe here. Upon arrival to my room 408 I told them I did not want to interact with that woman. She was rude and had no bedside manner. I would later receive a lot of bad looks and stats from her. She would also go on to ignore the phone when I would call. My overnight nurse was a sweetheart until she told me that I am complaining against people here and she don't want to get in trouble I had asked her for an ice pack to Einstein. My surgery and she picked up the ice pack which would been laying on the floor all night and attempted to refill it. I said no, no, no, no, you must be kidding. She got upset and said they don't have many of these. She later went right across the hall into the closet and grabbed another one I was complaining. She got upset and started to cry in the room and told me that I'm trying to get her in trouble. I apologized to her and told her. I am sorry because maybe I was taking out on her something. After all, she was doing her best and she did. Tell me that I should be happy that she's answering my calls. I told her I'm not here for free. And I pay a lot of money for insurance. This same overnight nurse had me or tried to have me sit in a visitor chair with no underwear. But nothing covering that chair. I told her I'm not sitting on that. You need to put something down. And she did comply. Not enough space for all my complaints I was helped by the supervisor And"

"I love the service my mother and I received. My mother recently got surgery, and the nurses were all kind and attentive. The kitchen staff was also very kind and offered me food even though I was not the patient."
