"My friends and I had an amazing time staying at the Allen hotel. They upgraded our room for free and the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. Genny (working the front desk when we checked in) made us feel so taken care of and had a great attitude! Next time I’m in the city, I’ll be back to stay here!"
"Great staff! Room was small but very clean and comfortable. The pizza place across the street was really good! Great area. Looking forward to staying again"
"Though the room and location were decent, one of the front desk staff members was so negative she ruined our experience. It was miscommunication at its finest with a $71 discrepancy she kept trying to chalk up to undisclosed taxes. The 3rd party I booked through sorted the issue and did not charge the overage. **Even after the 3rd party explained and sorted the miscommunication, however, The Allen Hotel desk member continued to message me and use curt language. Grateful there was a 3rd party and we did not book directly with the hotel."
"We booked a 5 night stay. It’s very clean in our room, it’s small but cozy. The balcony is amazing. We’re close to everything. However — The biggest problem is that as soon as we stepped off the elevator this evening we were hit with the smell of pot on the entire fifth floor. It’s awful. I called the front desk to make sure we don’t get charged the $250 smoking fee. Honestly, I wish they would do something and make the people smoking quit or leave. It’s very rude and inconsiderate behavior to smoke and fill an entire floor with the smell. We have resorted to keep our balcony door open. It is currently 46 degrees - so that’s really not ideal. This isn’t an issue I’ve had at a hotel before. I’m incredibly annoyed. I wouldn’t bring my family to a hotel that is cool with the whole place smelling like pot."
"Awesome location great amenities and friendly helpful desk staff make for a great work trip. Enjoyed seeing two room types, as they were sold out at different intervals, understandably based on my experience that matched other reviewers whom noted cleanliness and upscale vibe. Has key elevator for safety and is located perfectly for many directional choices of activity, close to so many restaurants and lower east side attractions, it’s an easy top choice."
