Sonder Battery Park

"This was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in the city. It has an amazing view, a gorgeous rooftop, and the rooms are very properly equipped and clean. We had a fully equipped kitchen with kitchen utensils, a toaster, a coffee maker, an oven and fridge and freezer, a decent size Roku TV and a small dining table. I do think the beds are a little low but overall my experience here was excellent. They are very close to most attractions and train stations too. Would 100% recommend and it is worth the price you pay."

"My stay at Sonder Battery Park was a thoroughly disappointing experience marred by various issues that significantly impacted my overall satisfaction. Upon entering the room, it became evident that cleanliness was a major concern—dirty walls and floors, a clogged shower drain, and water leakage from beneath the flooring were just the beginning. The discovery of hairs and remnants from previous tenants in the drawers underscored a lack of attention to detail in the cleaning and maintenance process. The condition of the floors was especially troubling, forcing me to wear shoes within the room as it didn't feel clean. Despite reaching out to chat support, the response was inadequate. The refusal to accommodate my request for a new room or a transfer to another Sonder location, coupled with a dismissive approach when seeking a refund due to multiple issues, left me frustrated and dissatisfied. The lack of transparency regarding the non-refundable rate policy was particularly irksome, as it seemed to prioritize policy over guest experience. The overall state of the property, including missing paint and signage in the hallways, added to the disappointment. This stark contrast to a positive experience we had at the Savannah Sonder some years ago. It raises concerns about the consistency of Sonder's quality standards across its properties. I sincerely hope this comprehensive feedback prompts Sonder Battery Park to address these issues promptly, reevaluate its policies, and prioritize customer satisfaction. Such improvements are crucial for maintaining the positive reputation that initially drew me to the Sonder brand."

"Those who greeted us to get our luggage was very kind and professional. Location was great! Access to everything the city has to offer was within subway distance without hectic crazy crowd and noise. Room was tidy and clean. Roof top had a great view of the river. I would definitely stay again next time we visit NYC without any hesitation."

"Staff were wonderful, kind, friendly and very helpful. Rooms are incredibly comfortable, had a couple of issues, but because the staff were so helpful it didn’t detract from the experience. Best location for New York, can easily get anywhere. Gym was a little smaller than expected, could get busy, and was extremely warm for a gym! The communal lounge areas were also lovely, and the rooftop was very nice. Pool wasn’t in season but looked like it would be exceptional"

"We had a lovely stay at battery park sonder. The room was clean and tidy, it had a washing machine, dryer and a dishwasher, which was really convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the pool area was closed, which was a surprise cause it says that it was open, but we came up there to check it out and couldn’t get in even though the app showed it was opened. Otherwise it was a great stay and the location was great, 5 minutes walk to the subway and close to battery park where you could take the free ferry to see the statue of liberty from afar. The AC worked great, and you can regulate the temperature to how you like it. We could also just go down to the reception and pick up supplies for example the kitchen or the washing machine. Great stay and a great time."
