"I have stayed in hotels all over New York City, and the Voco on 164 East 87th was by far the best. It is a hidden gem with excellent rooms and beautiful decor. The rooms are quaint with beautiful floors and ceilings, light fixtures, and lovely chairs. The beds are so comfortable as well. I was really taken aback by how quiet the area was. No loud bars or clubs, just a quiet street on the Upper East Side. It was delightful! The best part of my 7 day stay was the excellent customer service by every staff member. Housekeeping came every day and was fantastic. Glenn and Jeremy were the perfect hosts; so kind and friendly, always there to help or say something nice. The young ladies were also friendly and helpful. That kind of customer attention just doesn’t happen in most NYC hotels. Everyone was kind and didn’t have their hand out for a tip; just good ole customer service there. I highly recommend the Voco, and hope I get to stay there again very soon."

"This was our first stay on the Upper East Side, and it could not have been better. My husband and I stayed in a double room with our 8 year old son, and the room was quiet, clean, and comfortably sized for the city. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the on-site coffee bar was a nice convenience. It was a short cab ride from LGA and convenient walking distance to The Met and Central Park. Would definitely stay here again!"

"Having major surgery at Mt Sinai, needed room close to hospital. Room was clean, good bedding. Staff helpful & courteous. Well maintained in an older style. We enjoyed the stay and the staff's helpfulness. Would stay there again. Excellent location."

"The staff were very friendly and helpful and our room was very clean and cute with more space than I expected. The location was excellent, it was walking distance from central park and the surrounding museums and close enough to walk to lots of shopping and bars and restaurants. There were plenty of people out at all hours so it felt safe to walk around but it was also quiet enough to get a good night's sleep. Subway entrances were also close by so we could travel to further locations. The elevator was vintage and a little daunting at first but we got used to it quickly and found it charming and quirky by the end of the visit."

"I rarely give 5. First off it's New York!! The rooms are going to be small unless you pay $$$$$. The staff was so friendly (rare). Didn't expect anything for free. Did offer a free coffee which was great. Clean and comfy bed and pillows. Nice shower. Very quiet! Easy access to the subway and shopping."
