Reviews of Océane Vineyards and Winery
"I wish I had the same amazing experience that brought me here in the first place, based on others reviews. On a beautiful fall day, I found the local winery with the best reviews, and it was this one. With high hopes, me and my partner arrived and the setting is indeed very beautiful. However, when we entered there was nobody there to greet us and we stood awkwardly around wondering if we were supposed to order at the bar or if we could go sit outside and if there was table service. When someone finally acknowledged us, they seemed irritated that we wanted to sit at the last available outdoor table. We sat down but it was not cleared off. Finally when someone came to take our order, they still didn't remove the glasses and crumbs from the previous customers but took our order. It was such a beautiful day that we just enjoyed the view and waited. When our flight of the wine arrived we had a few questions but were told to just read about it in the menu. Our cheese and fruit board never came. We waited and waited and finally had to go inside to ask of it's whereabouts since no one came back to check on us. Finally it came out with absolutely no acknowledgment that we had waited an abnormally long time for it. We were actually completely finished with our wine at that point. The worst part was, though, it was put together so thoughtlessly. There were three grapes and one of them was rotten. The cheese was very roughly cut and it was just overall messy and disappointing. Perhaps it was just a very busy day and they were short-staffed, in which case they should have acknowledged it instead of giving us such attitude and surliness when we complained. The place is indeed beautiful, but the wine and food and customer experience that we had doesn't justify us coming back. I actually waited some time to cool off before I posted this, but it really was one of the worst customer experiences I've had in quite a while. I wish the best to them and I hope that they can mature in their service and upgrade their attitude."
"The staff at this location were kind and attentive, which is why I gave two stars and not one. My boyfriend and I arrived at the venue, and people were speaking very loudly and using profanity. You could have heard a pin drop when we walked in. Everyone smiled and welcomed us to sit on the left side of the small establishment. Since that is where the "Cheers," like conversation and drinking, was going on, we chose to go to the right. The kind waitress came right away and took our order. We ordered a "charcuterie board" and a taste of four wines. Of the wines, only the Rosé was to my liking, but the worst part was the "charcuterie board." The picture here was taken from another review because we did not take one while there, but what is shown here is a little nicer than what we received. The board had two rice cakes, three salamis, and four hot salamis. Also, there were only two small slices of Mozzarella cheese and an olive. We paid $50 for some rice cakes, salamis, bad wine, and we had to listen to the loud profanity of a drunk man who was on the other side of the small establishment. The place could be nice, but it needs to improve the menu. My boyfriend and I were disappointed with our experience. I hope this place can improve because the staff was very friendly."
"Amazingly friendly staff, great vibe and scenery. Went here with my wife and kids and felt like we were at home. Service was amazing. John, the manager, was super kind and friendly with our kids.. Even gave them a tour of the barn on site. We planned to come for a quick lunch and drink and ended up staying for a few hours. Can't wait to go again"
"So we came here with a group. This place definitely has lots of potential, new owners, so definitely room to grow. The cheese board was amazing! Especially the goat cheese and jelly part, which was my favorite. Pretzel took a long time to come out but it was yummy. The inside was super cozy and nice and warm for a cooler November late afternoon. So, I only gave it a 4 for the sangria prices and the temperature of the cider. Usually sangria comes in a full glass, it was more like a small half glass. The hot cider did not come out hot. For a cooler day, it should be hot to warm up your hands and to enjoy for a few minutes. It was more like room temp. Otherwise, a really nice place. I would love to come back in the spring or summer to see what they make of the place. I think it will be awesome given some time."
"What an amazing experience. The grounds are absolutely stunning. The staff provided a delicious brunch and I had two wines I have never had before. I appreciate the education on the growing process as all grapes are grown on site. Upbeat farmhouse elegant atmosphere and the view from the deck is breathtaking."
