Reviews of Lincoln Pond Campground
"Lincoln Pond Campground is a nice campground located in New Russia, NY. The campground offers easy to Lincoln Pond and has a place to launch both motor boats and kayaks from inside the campground. There is also a beach and a place to swim inside. Campsites are fairly large. There are campsites located right on water. The campground offers sites for both RVs, campers, and tents. The campground is fairly close to the high peaks hiking areas. New Russia and Elizabethtown also are not that faraway. Cell service is very good in the campground. The campground can be noisy as it is located very close to the Northway. Boats on the lake can also contribute to noise. Campground is sometimes understaffed, sometimes no one is there to check you in. Check this place out if you want access to Lincoln Pond or easy access to high peaks hiking trails."
"If you are looking for a camping spot do not pass up the chance to stay at Lincoln pond! This place is literally my go to spot for all occasions! A quick swim in the beautiful mountain lake of the Adirondacks. Clean water, sandy bottom, beach, huge play ground, great fishing, kayaks/canoes to rent and camping areas. Did I mention a large pavilion for birthday parties and other great events. Picnic areas. Grills. Now with an updated bath house and facilities! Great job Lincoln pond for all your hard work and always giving me a great place to swim, relax and enjoy the occasional bald eagle flying over!"
"4 stars because of quality of staff, out of stock of ice, bait, and fire starter for my whole stay, and main camp was crowded and dirty. However, I stayed at site 31R (remote island boat access only). It's a good 30 minute row each way, expect to take a john boat or canoe if you are bringing any gear. As expected no outhouses or electricity. Still had cell service. Do not try to pass by the left side of the island in July unless you have a paddle board even with a shallow draft canoe, we got stuck multiple times. The right hand side of the island has a deep 20 foot or more hole. The rest of the lake is 10-12 feet deep and full of weeds. Ok fishing for bass, pike and tiger musky if trolling, although all are under slot size or small. The camp spot has lots of level ground, a fireplace, and a sandy ramp where you can park maybe a 16 foot v hual or larger flat bottomed boat, although it doesn't get deeper then 2 feet for about 20 feet out. Nice view, no visitors, secluded, tent spot under the stars."
"This campground was a mix of great and terrible. The location is beautiful and the sites are really nice and large. The beach is also quite nice. The campground is also will situated if you want to go biking in the high peaks. Despite me giving it three stars, i would stay here again because the good outweighed the bad for the most important things. Now for the terrible... First, the place is poorly managed. There were a lot of RVs. Most of them were down by the water but we had one up on the hill right next to us. Their generator was extremely loud and they had it running until almost midnight one night. They were not the only ones running loud generators outside of hours that were permitted, but there was nobody doing rounds to check anything. The campground send to be run by two teenagers that were for the most part minding the entrance. On the topic of noise, the campground is close to the road and to the lake and there are large motorboats and jetskis. The first night that we were there the nose of all the motors was very loud and disturbing. After that it seemed to have calmed down. This is not the fault of the campground, but it's something to be aware of. Second, the facilities are run down and not very clean. This is not a huge deal for me since when i go camping it's to be outside, but it's worth mentioning. Third, the beach is nice but they force you to swim inside of a corded area which is the size of a pool and would come up to my waist at the deepest point. We swan the first night and there was no life guard so we swan where we wanted. The water was nice but there was quite a bit of seaweed in the beach area. The next day there was a lifeguard and she enforced the rule, however she was very unprofessional. At first she was watching but eventually she went to lie with her boyfriend on the beach and started making out. We decided to go swim around the corner. The water was a little more choppy but there was less seaweed so it was nice. The only downside was that there was not much Beach there for the kids to play. When we came back, the lifeguard was making out with her boyfriend in the water."
"Was a great experience especially with little kids. You dont have much privacy in the main loop of campsites on the water but that's to be expected with a campground. Site 13 is the best, room for kids to run around and grass and directly on the water with no hill so they can wade around and collect shells. Gets windy but again expected when directly on the water, I loved that the bathroom wasn't far off and was in relatively good shape, can et a little dingy but better than an outhouse that's for sure. We loved the playground and can't wait to go back"
