"I had reservations about getting my first tattoo LOL My daughter lives in Brooklyn and used Aaron for some of hers so when I was in the city in Oct I booked a session with Aaron at Gristle Tattoo From the moment I walked in the front door I felt at home. It was super clean and everyone was really nice. He explained in detail exactly how it all would go down and reccomended I get a smaller one the first time so I wouldn't be overwhelmed. He did an awesome job and has great attention to detail and fine lines. He even told me step by step how to take care of it for the long run and gave me a product to apply. Not if, but when I get my next one Aaron will be the one and the only one to do it! Thank you Aaron! Singer-Songwriter WC Edgar"
"Went for the 420 flash sale with my daughters for their first tattoos. Got myself an adorable little caterpillar as well! I believe my artist's name was Connor and he was awesome! Very warm and friendly. The shop was immaculate and bright. Will definitely make the trip back to Gristle in the future. My only suggestion is, if you're not familiar with the area and have an appointment give yourself plenty of time because parking is rough."
"I asked the artist specifically to avoid unnecessary shading and was specific that I want clean lines. Which is why I chose him. I spent time to show exactly what I wanted to do AND what to avoid through a variety of photos. Our first appointment went great! The result was perfect — just incredibly cool! We scheduled the second part of the tattoo and… I don’t know. Did he forget who I was? What I cared for? No clue… he shaded the whole place to the point that it looks black. He even shaded the first part of the tattoo with some 100% unnecessary tiny — I don’t even know what that is… seaweed? On a mountain? His work can be good but you need to micromanage them. Every step of the way hold a mirror on you and micromanage them. Unless you want to end up crying your eyes out on the way home and scheduling a tattoo removal the next day. A new tattoo should be a happy and exciting experience. I’m still in shock with this monstrosity and I suffer from panic attacks (it’s not a small area either) Also beware: some tattoos never make it on their social, so you only get to see the “good” ones!"
"Very blessed to have found this place. Been getting tattooed by Natia for 3+ years. I recommend it to all my friends. Every artist is friendly and very skilled."
"The environment was much more relaxing compared to other tattoo shops, it’s bright and they play a very relaxing ambient soundtrack so it’s welcoming even for people who have yet to get a tattoo. The staff were also very friendly answering any questions I had and letting me sit when I got there really early. I am very pleased with my tattoo and the end result and would definitely recommend this shop to anyone looking for a tattoo."
