Scarr's Pizza

"I love the pizza served here. It's got a good balance between the sauce, the cheese and the dough. I tried the mushroom slice and I was not disappointed. I will definitely be coming back. There is a waiting line, however, so it's better to get multiple slices or a whole pizza to make the wait worth it."

"My friend and I went to Scarr's at 6pm on a Sunday. We had reservations to sit in the dining area. It's very casual with old-school retro vibes, but it works! If you're a fan of the pizza, I would recommend making a reservation. I will preface this food review by saying that this is based on my preferences, since we went here because it's one of the best pizzerias in the city according to my friend. We got 2 small pies: margherita ($23) and pepperoni (forgot the price). While the dough was chewy and the pizza was not charred or burnt, I felt like there was a lot of excess dough on both the pizza and the crust. However, I am wondering if this is just an issue with the small pie, as some of the pictures of the individual slices appear thinner. The sauce also did not have a tangy or robust flavor, so that fell flat for me as well. I enjoyed the pepperoni pizza more than the margherita pizza. The pepperoni was flavored well and was very tasty, I appreciated the appropriate amount of basil on the margherita, but also felt the mozzarella cheese was too thick and did not have good flavor, but it could be that the tomato sauce did not complement it well. There were a variety of people who helped us who were all kind and friendly! There were check backs, but our water did go empty for a bit. Overall, the pizza just was not to my preference, but if it sounds like it works for you, definitely check out Scarr's!"

"Delicious nyc pizza here at Scarr's. The hype is absolutely real here. I got the regular & Sicilian & both styles were equally good. I loved the mushroom slice too. It's thin & crispy with an unforgettable sauce. I went on Wednesday late morning and lines were starting to form. If you like delicious pizza go to Scarr's!"

"The hype is real - great pizza by the slice! While there was a line when I arrived at noon, it was quick (15 minutes). There isn't too many choices for pizza by the slice but u had the Sicilian sausage which was great. The plain slice was also a classic and worth trying. Overall a good place to visit for authentic NY pizza"
