"We were pleasantly surprised by this little pub in very tourist heavy midtown. They had a table for our group of 7 within minutes. For starters we had the Bavarian Pretzel which was tasty, a tender plate of Calimari, and Beer Battered Mozzarella Sticks which the kids loved. For dinner the Shepherds Pie was a favorite and the burgers were cooked to order. The fish and chips were good. The chicken sandwich and chicken strips were very well received by our kids. Service was quick and super attentive. We would definitely go again."
"We ordered the burger and the shepherds pie. Shepherds pie arrived in its own pot and was quite tasty, did need to add a bit of salt to heighten the flavor. Food arrived hot and to be quite honest I’ve been all around the world and their French fries were some of the tastiest I’ve had in the last couple years. Corn starch addition? Service could have been a little quicker on the drink end but the servers were quite friendly. Now be it, we did go on the 22nd of December, quite a busy time. Wonderful atmosphere for a pre dinner show"
"After the craziness of midtown during the holidays, we stopped by the Playwright for food and drinks. What an amazing find. The decorations were beautiful and the service was top notch. We ordered a bunch of appetizers, Playwright burger, and Fish n Chips. All dishes were great! We will definitely be stopping by this pub again soon."
"Local hangout place. Typical pub with many sports TV. We came here just because it’s centrally located for meeting people after work. Happy hour also helps for regular. Don’t expect too much for cocktails. Beer or wine is ok. Food is decent and space is large enough to accommodate big group."
