Reviews of Patsy's Pizzeria
"Got the coal oven pizza with pepperoni and basil. Very thin. The pepperoni was popping. The crust was delicious. An amazing pizza."
"What a charming place! Obviously this is the original Patsy's circa 1933, a short walk from the 6 train. We visited on a cold, quiet Saturday afternoon, and were greeted by a friendly server doing everything that day except make pies. It's an easy menu if you're getting pizza, but there are plenty of other Italian entrees, salads, appetizers, all made fresh. We settled on an Original thin-crust pizza with onions ($22.50, no green peppers here, somehow), a side of spinach, and a bottle of the Montepulciano ($30). That arrived within a couple of minutes, naturally. There were several tables ordering in front of us, but the pizza (and spinach) came out rather quickly, hot but ready to eat. Such a thin, thin crust with lots of bubbles, lovely undercarriage, and the sauce, so good! The mozzarella had a bit of saltiness to it as well. This is easily one of the best in the city, as virtually everyone reviewing Patsy's has attested. I was a little disappointed that the long bar area is not generally in use, as it's a striking second room, but hopefully it regularly opens on busier days. Cash-only, as ever, with ATMs all around the neighborhood if you forget. But a lunch for two with wine and tip for 80 dollars at an iconic pizzeria? We're going to make the trip regularly."
"Absolutely delicious, classic New York style pizza. Perhaps the most representative example I’ve had, almost the archetype of New York style. Why not five stars? Only because if this is the bedrock, there are just so many more exciting and unique takes throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn. It’s hard to say this is the best, but it’s absolutely comfort food and fantastic specimen."
"Pretty decent pizza. It’s cash only so please remember that. In a pretty interesting area and not close to the subway. We just grabbed a slice and they weren’t too nice. Nowhere to sit as well. Decent but not the best"
"This pizzeria is full of history. It’s aged brick oven is still in use. Pizza is good but not the best. Worth a try if you are in the area"
