"The service is beyond terrible. The food was okay but very slow. The manager was very nice and caring and the only reason we didn’t give this place one star. Our server particularly, Olivier, was the worst server I have ever had in my life. He never smiled once, obviously miserable at his job and took out on the customers. He made us so uncomfortable and ruined the whole experience. Don’t think we will ever go back or recommend this place to any one. Mainly because this one waiter that really ruined the night."

"Revisit recently from review last year. Lunch pleasant. Ordered clam chowder, pasta, salmon, fish & chips. Sam Adams & Martini as well. Great clam chowder although bit salty. Bread & butter reliable. Pasta excellent. Bar bit slow, but well explained. ----- I love Legal Seafood. We must appreciate this location because all other NJ location has closed. Coronavirus is devastating. I had great service from Legal Seafood in Short Hills. By the way, I have been decade long Short Hills resident, so, lots of memories. Before and after renovation. One thing I love... great service. Unfortunately, corporate takeover makes food worse. I don't know why oysters were poorer quality than what you find in Shoprote, H mart... And, worst of all... even staffs agree... what happened to Boston Cream Pie? Used to be round... what I found at Logan Airport as well.. LTK kitchen... Slice of whatever... that is truly pathetic. I still give 5 stars... for residual loyal employees who knows what should have been... I truly love Legal Seafoods... been to so many locations including Palisades Center, In Boston. Etc... I really pray and hope Short Hills Mall location can survive... especially with Ruth Chris comp side-by-side."

"Legal seafood was pretty good. This was my first time there and I enjoyed it. I got the crab cakes which was pretty decent. I would probably get some thing else next time though. The fries were super good and very fresh. The calamari was really good with the red sauce. I recommend getting the calamari and the Greek salad. There isn't much food options on the happy hour menu so don't expect a lot of options. If you want a place to go after work this is a perfect spot. The vibe is just right and service was great."

"With the understanding that this place is a chain restaurant, I thought the food was just okay. Most of it tasted as though it was purchased from a national company like Cisco, but not as fresh as local caught. My server was fantastic. I thought he was well spoken and got the order completely correct. As a group we ordered clam chowder lobster mac and cheese, a lobster roll and the bang bang cauliflower, as well as a dozen oysters. The oysters were okay, but not with the sweet aftertaste that was advertised. I would say the most disappointing item was the lobster mac and cheese. They serve it inside a lobster shell but it was very dry and the lobster was tough and chewy. They were a little heavy on the breadcrumbs. The restaurant itself seems like it has missed its heyday for being in such an upscale location. I don't think I would be back to this particular location. I've eaten at these in Boston and have a much better experience."
