"This was an all-around decent experience. After a morning of galvanizing around VA Beach and Norfolk, this was a chill spot to chill out. I did enjoy the food and drinks. The sever Andralina was funny and informative. She definitely made the experience better. Her recommendations were not bad ones. The oysters were good. This was the first time I had oysters that seemed so fresh. It is a nice spot to stop in for food and drinks to refill you to get back out there and explore or whatever you do."
"My fiance and I went on Friday night during the Neptune Festival probably around 9:30pm. We were able to be seated right away. Josh our server was super nice. He continued to check on us the whole night & his southern manners definitely came in to play. His service was a 10/10. We had steamed shrimp, stuffed Mahi and the crabcake dinner. The crabcakes were good. You could definitely tell there were no fillers in them. They were really good especially coming from someone who normally doesn't like crabcakes. The stuffed Mahi was okay. It was basically a crabcake on top of the mahi. There is supposed to be a sauce on top which was not on mine, but I wasn't going to send the whole thing back because of just the sauce. I just wish there was more blackening seasoning or some type of seasoning on the fish. I personally have had better, but it wasn't horrible either. The steamed shrimp were cooked perfect and I loved the old bay on them. The best thing I had was the grouper bites for our appetizers. They were hot, fresh and so flaky. When you bit into them they had nice chunky white fish. These were 10/10. I would definitely return for the grouper bites and steamed shrimp with an ice cold beer."
"I ordered the Buffalo fried oysters. I thought I was in a topas restaurant when they brought them out. I thought their specialty was oysters. These were the TINIEST OYSTERS I have ever seen! I also ordered the shrimp and grits. They were okay. No season just a bunch of sauce with green and red peppers. My sister in law ordered the OYSTER po'boy sandwich. Usually a po'boy sandwich of any kind are loaded with the meat. Not this one, it had 5 small oysters on this huge bun!"
"Years ago this place was excellent, now it's a wreck. It is hard to explain how disappointed we were to visit a restaurant we had such fond memories of. The environment was very poor, incredibly loud music, poor lighting, and smells plagued the entire restaurant. We decided to eat on the patio where the music was incredibly loud and pitchy from old worn out speakers that couldn't be adjusted. After apologies from the wait staff we ordered our drinks and food after a 20min wait. Our appetizers and main courses came out slow, disheveled, overcooked and burned. We were afraid to send it back because we were already over 90min invested. The oysters shells were chilled, but the meat was warm to the touch (no ice on tray), the fish in the tacos were overcooked and very over spiced, the oysters Rockefeller was destroyed and warm. The soft shelled crab was overcooked and tasted of smoked grease. Even the poor hush puppies were unedible (burned outside and raw centers.) (We would have complained and asked for new food or money off, but seeing it was nearly two hours of an obnoxious atmosphere and angry customers around us we decided it was best to just leave. We didn't want to wait longer or have to deal with people. It was a horrible experience for everyone at our table, and the complaining from others around us made it seem like it wasn't just us. I DO NOT recommend anyone take any minors to this establishment. YES those are plastic utensils at a restaurant where their average entrees were $27."
"This was our first time dining here, and we are not tourists. We were greeted and sat almost immediately and were a table of 7. The appetizers came out promptly and were tasty. The crab dip is a tad spicy , full of flavor, and a huge bowl for sharing. The grouper tenders were great as well. The main courses came out on time and together but there were a couple issues. The kitchen ran out of tarragon hollandaise for the mahi, and were temporarily out of hush puppies. The sauce was a lost cause and they never made more. Half of the hush puppies (those who got them) were burnt unfortunately. The missing ones eventually showed up but way into the meal. The stuffed mahi was dry beyond edible and without the hollandaise it was even worse. The crab cakes were large and tasty, and the stuffed flounder was flaky and rich. The shrimp dinner for $19.99 only had 8 shrimp with no “shark sauce”, and a modest serving of fries. Overall the dinner was okay at best, but the service was perfect. There is definitely room for improvement but it’s a busy, touristy restaurant at the beach so I typically only expect so much anyway."
