"What an amazing trip! Captain Robert and his wife were amazing and accommodating to our family. We booked last minute and Captain Robert made it work. We are in town visiting and our kids agree, the sunset sail was one of their favorite things they did this week! The Freedom is amazingly well kept and clean! "Captain Robert and his wife were absolutely fantastic! We had a great afternoon sailing the mouth of the James River out into the Chesapeake Bay. Capt Robert was extremely knowledgeable about his craft, the area (including its geography and rich history), and landmarks in the area. His wife was a delight to spend time with in conversation too - while keeping watch for lots of wildlife - pelicans, osprey, seagulls, and many other bird types... and dolphins! - and she pointed them out as they came into view. As a land-lover, I have never sailed on a sailboat before, and wasn't so sure about it at first. Capt Robert clearly makes safety a priority and answered all my questions thoughtfully and thoroughly. I would not hesitate to leave my entire family in his care, and will return for the opportunity to sail with him again. There is a coffee shop just two blocks from the marina, that has fantastic sandwiches and coffee - which Capt. Robert said you are welcome to take aboard or stop by after the sail. What a relaxing afternoon it was - I hadn't realized how calming a sailboat journey could be! When we needed to head back to dock, I couldn't believe how quickly the afternoon had gone.
