"I have lived here for 5 years the office and maintenence have always been very accommodating the only drawback is the rent keeps going up but that is everywhere"
"My experience with Ashland woods was GREAT thanks to Kaitlyn, unfortunately I didn't meet the criteria for an apartment but I will say if you do meet the criteria you should go see Kaitlyn!"
"Been here since September 2018 and have been happy with my unit and neighbors. Maintenance is always here should I need a repair and leasing agent Miss Joan is fantastic!. She is very thorough and professional in her role and a very personable person. Since moving here in 2018 rent increased $50 the first two years and $62 the last 2 years. Last month I received a note in my door stating rent for the coming lease in September will again be increased $62 from $975 to $1,037. I wasn't happy but obliged. Just today (a month later) I received another note in my door stating rent will be increased from $975 to $1,100 with my new lease in September. WHAT THE HELL!! Since when does a rent increase notice change a month apart from $62 to $125/month?? Being extremely upset I went to talk to the manager and she told me corporate changed their mind and as of June 1, 2022 rent is being increased to $1,100 for a two-bedroom. She also said that I should realize other 2-bedroom apartments are going for $1,200. Excuse me …you can't go by those standards since THIS IS AN INCOME RESTRICTED COMPLEX!! I understand rent will probably increase but come on $125/mo?? Besides that, as stated by another resident, where is the sparkling pool, which was only open for a couple of weeks last year because they were unable to get chlorine … hmmm!! No operational tennis courts due to being unkept and no nets. Some of the buildings need a much needed power washing, back patio fencing needs to be fixed at many units, gutters need to be cleaned very badly (when it rains hard they overflow), residents are unable to use the clubhouse. I have to say I would NOT recommend Ashland Woods the way things seem to be going forward!"
"I went there looking for an apartment for myself and unfortunately did not meet the criteria because I was over the income limit, but I had to write a review to put the spotlight on Kaitlyn, she went above and beyond to help me see if I could qualify and demonstrated exceptional personal skills to make me feel welcomed and important. Usually walking away I would feel like I wasted my time but she helped me learn how to better find a place more suited to me when I look again!"
"I have lived here for a year now in a 2 bedroom that started at $975. On Oct 11, 2021 rent was raised to $1037 and was only given a 15 day notice of the change on letter head dated for June 2021. No washer and dryer ,No stainless steel appliances, No operational pool (as advertised), and No operational tennis court or club house (as advertised). This complex is horrible at communicating with their tenants. Rebecca Burgin the acting property manager of the Audubon complex (on Wood Thrush Circle in Richmond) and her daughter Katelyn Burgin the now property manager of Ashland Woods tell tenants lies and pass their mistakes on to other employees to take the fall. When you call the corporate office located in Alabama to make complaints or ask questions to the regional manager does not return calls to handle situations. I was informed by Rebecca Burgin that rent prices can increase in the middle of your lease at any time and they do not offer month to month leases. When you read your lease page 1 section 3 and page 2 section 15 states otherwise. Let's address the towing issue... You are allowed visitors up to ten days. Your visitors car will be towed after three days in a visitor parking space. And if you are a resident be sure to park your car within the lines because the towing company, Katelyn Burgin, and corporate could careless if you are 18 or 80 you will be towed at your expense. The reason for two stars...I will say that maintenance (Donnie)is always here should I need a repair or something looked at. Leasing agent Miss Joan is amazing. She is very thorough and straight forward when explaining your lease, paperwork and answering any and all questions. I very much enjoy working with Miss Joan. If it wasn't for her pleasant demeanor I probably would have rented elsewhere."
