"We didn't end up renting here, but it was our 2nd choice for sure. The buildings and grounds are well kept, and the staff was perfectly friendly. Shout out to Kendra."
"There’s been a lot of improvements at Bent Tree. Decorating the club house was a awesome touch, my partner admires it every time we drive by! Candle making and cookies was super fun. We appreciate the community activities. Thanks for everything Gwendolyn and Kendra.Your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed."
"We spent a year and 6 months in this residence I did not find a beautiful, wonderful, clean, safe and quiet place like this, Bent Tree. All services are available in the residence. We did not feel like strangers. We felt as if we were in our home. I moved to another state and I feel very sad, and so did my wife. I feel nostalgic for Bent Tree. Management of ethics, cooperation and mutual trust. There is a very great person named Kendra. She is an angel who leads this organization with the utmost professionalism. She is cooperative, friendly, kind and very practical. Thanks Kendra for everything You are the best person in the world. If I ever go back to Roanoke, I will definitely go back to Bent Tree. I strongly recommend everyone to go and live there. A place of dreams."
"The location is decent, there is a good population of kids here and the apartments are spacious. Gas and water are included at no extra charge. The units have a dishwasher and laundry room with hookup for washer/dryer. There is a pool, basketball goal and small paved picnic area with two grills. There is a small workout room with basic machines and some weights and a clubhouse as well. Initially I thought I was getting good value for my money but since Beacon has taken over management of the property I feel their priorities lie in fixing up the areas to attract new tenants rather than focus on maintaining the happiness of existing ones. I feel they do not understand the product they are selling here is a home. The apartment complex is old and has been neglected. When it rains, my dining room gets wet. Water seeps in through the cracks in the walls and foundation. Sometimes it comes down the chimney in the utility closet when it rains hard enough. I have to regularly spray the floor and around in the closet to control the mold. This problem has been worked on many times over the years for myself and my neighbors with no long term solution. Our HVAC systems are from the 70s and have seen little or no preventive maintenance over the years. My neighbor, while mostly friendly can only be described as a “hoarder” who keeps piles of garbage, boxes and newspapers in his apartment. He has flooded mine three times this year by clogging his toilet and it running free for more than a day. The property is not well maintained. The lines in the parking lot have faded or are non existent in front of my building. Causing folks to park disturbingly close to you or make it so you can’t park at all. There is typically trash or other litter on the grounds, especially in the back near the “picnic area” where folks like to dump boxes. Despite there being a $35 pet fee each month you will be hard pressed to find pet waste bags stocked in the dispensers without having to complain. The grounds are not maintained at all except by a company contracted to mow. The “pet recreation area”, formerly a tennis court, was actually my favorite part of the complex giving me a large area for my dog to run off leash. Unfortunately this disappeared one day with no communication to the tenants. I have no idea if something is planned in the future but if that caught your eye in the listing it’s gone right now. The dropbox we used to use for communication with the office and to pay rent was removed without explanation. Office hours are still 8-5 though so be prepared to take off from work when you need to deal with the office. Rent has gone up substantially in the last year as well. I personally feel if I am going to pay luxury apartment prices (~ $1K/month) , I want a luxury apartment. I am not renewing my lease this year. I highly recommend you check this place out in person to make sure it’s what you want and maybe talk to some of the tenants too."
