"We stayed at this hotel because my daughter's school chose it for the Williamsburgfield trip. It has so many rooms that can accommodate school trips easily. It's location is very convenient for the places to visit, restaurants, and gas stations. Has several activities for kids and families and its play grounds are well-maintained. Breakfast is mainly cold items along with two types of warm breakfast sandwiches which are too small even for kids. Rooms are very old. Bathrooms are somehow renovated but the beds are so old and the mattresses are the things really need to be changed. My daughter and her friend slept on one bed and my wife and I slept on another bed but couldn't move till morning. Whoever wanted to turn, had to wake up the other one to be alert and keep the balance on the bed. I'm not joking, it was like an unbalanced trampoline. We asked other parents in the morning, they had the same funny and scary situation. Overall, it was a good stay."
"This was our first time staying on a property inside of Colonial Williamsburg itself. The rooms were clean, roomy, and had nice amenities. We will absolutely be staying with Woodlands again! Everyone was extremely helpful and accommodating, which is really important for me, as I am disabled. This hotel, and especially the staff, will make your stay memorable. I can't thank everyone there enough!"
"Although this is an older hotel, it's been well maintained and is clean. Staff were super friendly, and they accept pets so we could have our dog with us. The bus picks up from the Visitor Center, which is at the hotel and we got two complimentary passes to Colonial Williamsburg! We stayed a couple of days before Christmas and had a lot of fun. We will definitely stay here again."
"We stayed at the Woodlands for the convenience during Illumination weekend. We had a room with two double beds. I will say Double beds are too small. Equivalent to a twin plus about a foot. There was also a chair that was a pull out bed. There was a very mini fridge. Also daily housekeeping. The room was very clean. Outdated but clean. The room was quite small though. One two drawer dresser and a small closet. No cabinet in the sink area. The lobby was nicely decorated and had a fireplace with many seating areas to play games or visit. The staff was polite and efficient. I only had breakfast there one morning. It was the usual hotel breakfast but a step up. The breakfast room was large and bright. There was a variety of fruit and bread items plus grab and go hot breakfast biscuits. Overall the Woodlands was nice enough. It’s within walking distance on a safe path to the historic area. Also Steps from the visitor center to catch the bus. It does need updating though. Some investment needs to be made in this CW resort hotel. It’s a good option for families. There’s pool and play areas for the summer. Overall it’s a good for a convenient reasonably priced ( compared to the other CW properties) hotel option. I’ll be honest though, for about the same price I usually stay at the Marriott at Fords Colony in a one bedroom with living room villa with full kitchen and it also has pools and activities."
"This is our first time staying at the Colonial Williamsburg Woodlands Hotel and Suites and we are very well pleased. The hotel and setting are lovely and very convenient to the shuttle service. Our room was very large, comfortable and had adequate storage for all of our clothes. The complementary breakfast is nice and all of the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. This is a great resort and very convenient."
