"Long wait time, understaffed, and disorganized. They mixed up my vaccine appointment and were going to send me home with no visit, after waiting for 1 hour and 45 minutes in the line (I arrived 15 mins before my appointment as instructed). They also failed to send my records to VDH after six weeks. It's disappointing how much time a customer should spend on a service as simple as a routine immunization. The wait time for preparing prescriptions after receiving physician order is also too long (3-4 days, compared to 12-24 hrs at the other pharmacy I am using now)."
"I cant believe this pharmacy is in Ghent! I received a text saying that my insurance needed to be verified and to call the pharmacy. I called and waited an hour on hold. When I finally got a person they were downright abusive. As I tried to read her the information from my card she reputedly tried to hang up on me. She demanded information that was not on the card and when said things like "do you mean group number" she snapped back with I am going to hang up you can come do this in person. At one point she told me she didn't have time for this and put me back on hold. We eventually got all the information entered then she told me I need prior authorization from my Dr. to fill the prescription. I asked for clarification as the Dr. is the person who sent in the prescription. She said "it means you need paper work". Then she hung up on me. Unreal feels like and episode of the Twilight zone."
"Primary pharmacy for the last 2 years and not one time have I had a smooth or easy experience. At least half a dozen times I’ve waited an hour on hold only to get hung up on. Lost prescriptions that they “can’t find in the system”. Hour or more waits in person. Unfriendly, rude, understaffed and over-worked employees which compounds the problem. “We don’t carry that” or “we’re all out of that” is frequent. I need my heart meds monthly so I’m here all the time and every single time it sucks badly. I don’t know how corporate hasn’t gotten involved to rectify the situation yet."
"I have been coming here since it opened. In the past year I have noticed a degradation of service at the pharmacy. If you use the drive thru, most of the time the cars waiting wind around the building almost to the front entrance. If you go inside, the line is usually 6 to 10 people with only one person at the counter to assist you with your prescription. Don't even think about calling as you will be on hold for almost an hour if you don't get hung up on first! I've used them because they are convenient but may now consider driving further to another Walgreens or switching to CVS or Rite-Aid to get better service."
"Just like others, I’ve also had a horrible experience here as well. The RX price is really expensive over here, more than most places so always check other places for cheaper RX rates. The waiting time, for a prescription is horrible. Be it in the drive-thru or inside. The wait time can be from 30 minutes to 2+ hours. I’ve been waiting for about 2 hours for a prescription I was prescribed at 2 pm. From now on, even if the RX is cheaper and it’s at Portsmouth—it’s worth the drive. Some people come in here sick and need their meds. People shouldn’t be sitting down 3 hours for a flu-shot. Some of us sit here in pain, or discomfort and be quiet in hopes to try and be patient..but this happens every time I come here. So it’ll definitely be my last."
