"I signed up for personal training, in June 2023,for one month, but the manager (Brandon) signed me up for a year contract (without my knowing until months later). Then when I wanted to to continue my membership for 3 additional months, I was signed up for a SECONDARY package. Multiple withdrawals for four months without my knowing. When I expressed to management, they gave me the runaround for MONTHS trying to exhaust me into giving up. I was told I would get a full refund by the director, and then he quit. The next director has informed me that I am only allowed to berl refunded partially because I dipped into sessions that I DID NOT KNOW I HAD because I was signed up for additional packages that I did not ask for. I, still, in February 2024, am trying to get my full refund back. The question of how much I deserve to be refunded has become about session count, rather than them owning up to the fact that their manage, Brandon, made a mistake, and the gym has areas they need to improve on. There are other complaints regarding Brandon in these comments. He has since gotten a promotion (lol) and is no longer at this location. They have scammed multiple people in this same way. Do not sign up for personal training. Do not go to this gym. Terrible capitalistic, deceptive, thieving gym. Go elsewhere."
"So far this was my first day visiting this location (I usually go to the Ridgefield Pkwy West End location) and it was a great awesome experience. Huge clean organized space, a lot of equipment, and a great welcoming energy by the nice lady at the front desk, even during opening. We went 6am (Saturday opening) to 8am. So great morning experience."
"Every single person who works here is beyond nice - from the folks at the front desk, to the trainers, to the folks who keep it clean. I only wish they had more options for lifting. It feels like it’s mostly a cardio gym with lots of stair machines, treadmills, and ellipticals. More racks and more benches would be *divine*"
"It’s a great gym, except the employees that work in the am are late opening the gym, are always on their phone instead of doing their job. Making sure the locker rooms are clean, soap is in the dispenser and paper towels are stocked around the gym should be done every shift but it’s not instead there is the same trash on the floor for days and paper towels are empty, no soap. It’s not a hard job. Hopefully they read this and fix the problem."
"The gym itself is decent. They have the equipment we were looking for. The in June 2023 we signed up for personal training program for 8 weeks ONLY thru early August 2023. Yet they, via Brandon Summers the Fitness Director, set us up for automatic billing indefinitely. Good thing I read fine prints. Talked to him immediately to make sure that our billing would stop after 2 months (8 week sessions). Cancelling a billing should be as easy as them signing up a new member. But it took me multiple attempts in person, Brandon and I spoke in his office, I sent him text messages (from the number that he himself texted me first about the personal training). But he kept saying he was at another location and that he needed Joe the regional manager to put my account on freeze. Then I spoke with Brandon again at the gym to confirm that my account has been put on freeze. He literally pointed at Joe who was leaving the gym, "He's the regional manager". And the texted me to confirm "You have been frozen". After the correct charges in June and July 2023, I wasn't charged in August 2023. So I thought this is it. But then on 9/9/23 my credit card was charged again! Even our wonderful personal trainer Melissa acknowledged that our training sessions have ended. More lesson learned about business ethics than the workout itself. I was hesitant at first to sign up for a program like this at a gym, but gave it a try anyway in good faith. But the business doesn't seem to have any respect to its customers at all. I believe this unauthorized charging, especially after they confirm that my account has been frozen, can be considered a fraudulent activity. I suggest anyone to really think about this risk if they consider joining the personal training program at Crunch. Might as well find a reasonable fitness enthusiast with decent knowledge and hire him/her as your PT. Google doesn't allow a second/separate review, so adding this part to give credits to Melissa. She's knowledgeable and was always willing to work around around schedules. We did learn some important details in our workout routine. It was a great experience overall with her."
