"Cute little park, with nice monuments all around !"
"Used to hang out here sometimes when I went to VCU. It’s a nice park and it’s cool that they have a little place to get coffee in the middle. I miss when there was a piano but for those that lived in Johnson Hall it was pretty annoying when drunk college kids would play it very late at night. Still was a great feature though. One time my sister who didn’t even go to VCU went viral on Twitter and ended up on the news when she drunkenly jumped into the fountain. Used to meet up with girls here before going back to my dorm. Overall, very well-maintained and the police presence keeps it a safe place where everyone can feel comfortable and enjoy the weather."
"Beautiful, quiet park/plaza with both sunny and shaded areas, a fountain, green space, and some benches. Would definitely benefit from more benches, especially around the fountain. Walkways look freshly paved and are smooth, making the park more accessible."
"If you don’t mind a parking challenge Monroe park is a great place with some green space right in the heart of VCU. There’s always something cool going on as was the case with this Halloween parade a few weeks back. Definitely a great place to walk, read, or even people watch :p"
"This is such an interesting park and in such a pretty location right in the middle of VCU. I love the huge fountain as a centerpiece to the park and the number of pleasant avenues there are. Not only does this park get the job done, it does it with style."
