"I went here last weekend to revisit an annual pilgrimage from my youth: The Nutcracker. This has to be the finest theater venue in Richmond. It's more intimate than the Mosque or the National, and the acoustics are superior. You'll love the Near Eastern revivalist architecture style. The actual production of the ballet was superb, especially the set designs. I have been going here since the 1960s and first saw the film 2001 A Space Odyssey here when it was released in the early '70s. That was back when it was called the Loews Theater."
"We watched the nutcracker ballet for the first time last night, and it was absolutely perfection. The show is said to be 2 hours long, but it was so captivating that it felt like only a few moments had passed before it was all over. We will definitely be making this a new tradition. However, I will say that the seats are very tight and very close together. There were not any cup holders or room for food and drinks. Definitely wear smaller coats, bring smaller bags, and as little as possible to your seats and wait to buy the nutcrackers until the end so you are not as uncomfortable. You will be sitting shoulder to shoulder with the people next to you; which is something I did not expect since the seats were advertised as "roomy & comfortable" if you have to make frequent bathroom breaks or have little ones I suggest an aisle seat because it is impossible to get out of your spot during a show."
"What a lovely experience. Our seats were wrong, but we got it straight. My mom was in a wheelchair and they helped us out tremendously. Staff and ushers very kind."
