Reviews
"Nearly four mile walk/hike...trail punctuated by historical markers describing First Day at Chancellorsville, 1 May 1863."
"Great place to walk and check out history. Only issue was my service dog was denied access to the museum on 12/30/23, so if you have a service dog be aware. The trails are well maintained and easy to walk, but are gravel so it may be a little harder for wheel chairs."
"The First Day at Chancellorsville Battlefield is a shared stop with the Spotsylvania County Museum. Large parking lot is available. Restrooms in the museum. Excellent signage explaining ing first day's battle. The walking trail is paved and has signage. The total walking is approximately 1.5 miles in total. Limited shade and can very hot in the summer. Highly recommend this stop when touring the Chancellorsville Battlefield."
"Beautiful old barn located here, perfect for photography! I didn’t walk on the trail this time around, but I did see people jogging and walking their dogs on it. The area is clean, filled with the beauty of nature, and interesting stories of history! Whether you have a dog, are a history lover, want some beautiful photographs, or just want a simple walk/jog, I definitely recommend checking this area out."
"About 3.5 miles total of easy rolling hills. When you are done, be sure to visit the Battlefield County Store across the street for an amazing sandwich and a drink. This section of the battlefield is not part of the National Park just a few miles down the street. Glad this area was saved for all to enjoy."
