City Dock Park

"My son and I went to the City Docks to eat a late lunch. It was nice to sit by the water in the car and just enjoy the view and each other's company and talk, there was hardly anyone else there at that time. When we were done, there was this big white goose walking around the parking lot, presumably waiting for leftovers. Since we did have quite a few fries left over, we got out of the car and tossed him/her a few. Then over on the grassy Bank were a bunch of Canadian geese and we started tossing more fries to them. They started chasing off this one and that one wanting all the fries. The big white goose acted like he was king of the hill. It was enjoyable to be out in the fresh crisp air in the late afternoon fall. We laughed, took pictures, and just watched more geese fly overhead."

"It’s a favorite place in downtown of mine. It can get busy during holidays. There is ample parking. Great place in town to go to take a paddle board or to fish."

"I like this little city park. This is a stop for the Fredericksburg Trolley Tour, you can get drive by views of the river, and you may see fishing, boating, paddle boarding, or even kayaking. Great for the selfie or group photo. Trains, bridges, and nature as a backdrop."
