"EDIT: My earlier review is still on here just below what I am writing now. I came back even though I was not sure I would. I still do not like the new outlay and some of the employees really do not know the job. Turnover seems to be an issue here when before it seemed to always be someone we knew. But yesterday, and for not the first time, I was in the store to purchase some Bacon. Staff was friendly. But when I pulled up there were a lot of cars parked right in front of the store. Inside I was the only customer. When I left, another customer had come in but there were 7 cars there including mine and the other customer. Is WF allowing employees to park in the spots in front of the store? That seems odd but yet there were nowhere near the customers present as there were cars. If parking is an issue then this needs to be addressed by the owner. Not the first time this has been brought up before......................................... Original Review: I've been here forever and used to love coming to the South OX Rd store. But over the last year or so I've seen a change in service here and then add the so called "up-grade" and this store is not what it once was. The up-grade has less products and this includes a bit of everything. But I have gone in several times only to have employees chatting and having a good times with friends I am sure while I stand there at the counter waiting for help for lunch meats. Happened again in the last couple days. Not sure how a re-do in the store has observed a reduction in items but it has. Just overall I am not sure what is happening but after this recent visit I am not sure I will return."

"Stopped in on customer appreciation day and left with a back seat full of bacon, eggs, and ribeye steaks. I try to buy local whenever we can to support our neighboring farmers. Everything we have eaten from there has been delicious."

"I am sorry to say that the service has gotten terrible here. Forget about placing an online order. They NEVER have it ready for pick up. When you go to get it the employees spend several minutes bickering about who should have checked for orders. If you just walk in to buy some food the employees are always very busy chatting and act like it is an imposition to wait on you. It’s too bad the service has gotten so poor. Their products are good but it’s just getting to time consuming and frustrating to shop here."

"Wide variety of quality fresh meats at decent prices. And a selection of frozen fish, French fries, chicken nuggets and more. They also have a pretty good deli and they make sandwiches and run specials. There are a couple of tables outside if you want to have a seat and enjoy your lunch."

"Living in SC now I miss the local butchers in the area where I could get some great meats and that good ole’ country ham. While coming back up visiting family I stopped in to Wholesome Foods for the first time just before Christmas and picked up a bunch of quality meats for over the holidays. All of their meats are great including that country ham. The staff are all wonderful and friendly and glad to help ya’. The kind lady that helped me gave me a pack of hamburger to try from my purchase and being my first time there. Needless to say she knew what they had in their hamburger for it could have been the best that I’ve had. When coming back north again I’ll be stopping in to Wholesome Foods again."
