Creative Learning Center Preschool

Creative Learning Center Preschool, located at 9614 River Road in Richmond, Virginia, is a school that is dedicated to glorifying God through teaching, loving, and supporting young children and their families. As a ministry of Second Baptist Church, CLC believes that each child is a unique creation of God and aims to partner with parents to help children grow in all areas of development. The institution follows a school-year schedule from mid-August to late May, offering a theme-based camp experience during the summer for children ages 12 months through entering Kindergarten.

CLC Preschool utilizes a curriculum called STREAMin3, developed by the University of Virginia, which focuses on promoting children's development and early learning through developmentally appropriate activities and play. The school also participates in Virginia's Quality Measurement and Improvement System (Virginia Quality Birth to 5) through the Virginia Department of Education.

In addition to preschool, CLC offers a Kindergarten class with smaller class sizes to provide more individualized instruction. The curriculum is based on the Virginia Standards of Learning and includes opportunities for socialization through peer interaction. The school year for Kindergarten runs from mid-August to late May, with a theme-based camp experience offered during the summer.

CLC After School program serves children in Kindergarten through 5th grade, providing time for snack, homework, reading, recreation, and enrichment activities. Operating from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm, Monday-Friday, in alignment with the Henrico County Public Schools calendar, the program also offers a Teacher Workday Package for HCPS half days and teacher workdays.

For the 2023-2024 school year, bus transportation is available from Gayton, Maybeury, and Tuckahoe Elementary Schools. The Preschool program is currently fully enrolled for the 2024-2025 school year, with waiting lists in every age group. The CLC Interest List is open for new families interested in receiving registration updates throughout the school year. The institution is always seeking qualified candidates with a passion for early childhood education.
