Super 8 by Wyndham Front Royal

"For what we paid I will go somewhere else next time. Staff was friendly, but I have a bone to pick with maintenance. Nice big TV with ROKU. (1) Milk at breakfast was sour and warm (2) Coffee creamers were literally curdled and upset our stomachs (3) Bathroom door did not latch. Latch was over 1/2” lower than strike plate. (4) No support under “new shower” insert. Felt like your feet would break through when you moved. Sounded like a squeaky hardwood floor (5) Security chain on main door Jamb (see photo) was not secured to framework. Just screwed into soft metal with a short screw. Was not functional for any security purpose. Could pull off door trim with two fingers. (6) Window was open when I first entered room. Would not shut unless removing screen which was bent out of shape from being jammed into place. (7) Refrigerator was plugged in, but not cold."

"Overall, the customer service was friendly and great. They supplied us extra fresh towels and toothbrush kits. I appreciated the no Smoking signs. Breakfast was good and free. The prices were cheap yet we did have some problems. Television was wonky and the screen was messed up. We were placed facing the elevator. Door locks did not feel secure. We were advised by the visitor center to go to other hotels and given a discount code. I did love the gigantic black and white photo over our bed and the free hot coffee early in the morning. The location of the hotel was perfect though. I loved it being close to Mountain Mystic Company, Shenandoah Park, and Spelunkers. Downtown was very nearby too."

"My review is not based on past experience with Super 8 as this is my first stay at a Super 8 in at least 20 years. This will be compared to simply what a hotel could do better or was great at. Going into this experience I was not fully expecting much out of it but it was better than expected. First off, staff were friendly and helpful. Room booked with Expedia and given room in front of elevator. This wouldn’t have been preferred but luckily there weren’t many guests and only was an issue just before sleep for 2 minutes. But elevator worked and reliable, which is better than past stays at other hotels. Breakfast consisted of pancake maker, bread with jelly, cereal, and honeybun packets. Juice, warm milk, and coffee as an optional add. Bedding had a large stain on sheet. Bedroom wall had boogers on wall. A/C and Heater worked great as well as refrigerator and hot/cold water (also better than most past stays at other hotels) Could improve on throwing out stained sheets and looking for boogers on the walls. Bed was hard and sleeps stiff. Offers many pamphlets of local attractions."

"The staff are absolutely wonderful. How ever the rooms had some issues including but not limited to... Not having a working smoke and CO in the room with wires hanging from ceiling. The shower squeaked when in use. The toilet clogged multiple times during our stay. I though we were doing something wrong but after the staff came to unclog it for the 2nd time I put 2 squares for toilet paper and it clogged again. My girlfriend who actually booked the room, booked a room with a queen sized bed and the bed we got was a twin."

"Great location for outdoor enthusiasts. Dog friendly and the rooms have all of the basic needs. Our room was clean and everything worked as it should. Free breakfast. The best part about our stay was tye super friendly staff. Everyone we met was kind and gave off an air of happiness and contentment. This hotel is no fuss no frills just solid where it needs to be."
