"I cannot say enough about Garry Calhoun. We had a major problem with our house insurance at our renewal time. In a complete panic I called the Humphrey, Stump and Haynie Agency (I have to say I randomly found on our insurance agency’s website). I was connected with Garry and in literally 10 minutes he put me right at ease. He was so informative and knew exactly how to fix our problem. In less than 24 hours everything was fixed- he is amazing. If you need a great agent Garry is your guy. Thank God for him."

"Unreliable and devious outfit. They canceled our family auto policy due to two no fault accidents - one was a drunk driver and the other was a hit and run - neither was my son’s fault. They did not put any documentation in the incidents so it would only appear a negative incident when we sought a new policy elsewhere. Their antics were only beginning. In the same conversation, I told them that we were canceling our homeowners policy since we wanted a multi policy arrangement with whomever we selected for our new policies. Even though they knew the policy was to be canceled, they accepted a second insurance payment on my same residence. This meant 2 policies on the same house. I tried to resolve this in May 2021, and June 2021. Cathy and Adrienne said they would take care of it but that never happened. I was out of pocket ~$1170 with no response other than 2 policies on the same residence - both through Travelers insurance. In February 2022 I reached out again for reimbursement and had to recite all records and notes with involvement of my mortgage company for them to consider investigating the doubled policy. They ten asked if I filed my cancellation in writing. This was the first mention of this requirement after many phone calls. I with my mortgage company on the line, I reminded this agency that their system had an automated statement that all calls were recorded and I would subpoena these recorded calls and file complaints with Va state insurance board an BBB if not resolved. So eels later I find out that they notified Travelers insurance and canceled both policies - their own and the one that they were not even involved in creating. I had to contact my new carrier to reinstate insurance with travelers and was informed that this issue was intentional on the part of Humphrey, Stump, and Hanie. If considering an insurance group, I recommend looking elsewhere unless you want an unreliable and vindictive group that does not represent you when they do not benefit. Relieved to close this chapter of an insurance nightmare experience."
