"The staff at this is horrible please don't ignore the previous negative feedback from customers, you're given attitude when just needing help or having questions about anything in the store majority young women in the store that's lollygagging. I asked to speak to the manager in reference to a shoe that allegedly was the last one in the store hoping I can get some help from her she went to the back I thought to check and she comes back doesn't acknowledge me anymore and sends someone else to say we can't find the other shoes. So I asked if it could be ordered and they had no idea. NEVER AGAIN I found what we needed at Hibbett Sports way better experience."
"Well, I went into this store because after some online research looking for a specific shoe, this chain and specific location in Lynnhaven Mall had the size I needed. Sadly though, I was pressed for time when I needed a new pair of shoes... and if I had time to online order from another business and wait for shipping, I would have done that instead. But unfortunately, I needed something new for the next day so I had to just suck up the terrible customer service and weird/uncomfortable experience I had. I walked in within about 10 minutes after the store opened. I found the shoe I was looking for and was able to request the size I needed. I waited a while for them to come out, but it was not a huge deal since we were browsing around (first time in JD's but familiar with Finishline). The sales associate guy was really awkward. Wouldn't look me in the eye. Would only let us try on one shoe. Asked to try on both shoes but we had to swap out one shoe for the other. I assume they do this for theft prevention, but who really knows since the guy was so awkward and weird. An explanation would have been nice. Saw another customer being allowed to try on both shoes and asked about us doing the same but the guy just looked at me like I was speaking a different language. These were shoes my son needed for school since his last pair were unwearable. So trying both on is kind of important for a kid to decide and make sure they're a good fit. Then the guy kept pressuring and rushing me to make a decision if I was going to buy the shoes or not. Even knowing I was already planning to buy the shoes, it felt so uncomfortable and weird. Even another male employee noticed and smirked like he saw/felt it too, but did nothing to help. As I said, my child needed them for school and I didn't have time to order from another store online (no one else had them in stock to buy in person), so I went with it, but at this point, I would have just left if I had time to wait. It was like he was going through the motions of helping me but acting like he had better things to do and kept rushing us along. He took the 2nd shoe from me and put it into the box behind the counter and I went to queue up to purchase the shoes. There were two ladies behind the registers and they were super engaging and nice. I asked about why we couldn't try both shoes on at the same time and the lady directly helping me said they allowed it by request. I told her I requested but the guy wouldn't let us. If I can help it, I will shop elsewhere in the future. It felt like there was a lot of bias in how I was treated by the male sales associate."
"I truly feel like the people that work there hate white people. Yesterday my son and i weee they only 1’s in the store with about 4 employees. I swear i could not get anyone to help me. My son tried asking an employee a question and she walked right buy him to go giggle with the other employee. When an African American customer walked in the store a couple minutes later they were greeted and served. I will never go in this store again. My son is 11 and was asking me why they wouldnt help us. I didnt have an answer. I will also tell every sneaker head i know about my experience there!"
"The staff really hate their jobs. Today, on a Monday around 5:30pm. Ten other customers including myself were trying to wave down the 2 front staff for shoes. They acted like they didn’t see us waiting for shoe size checks. They lacked communication and customer service. One employee took my shoes and then she started organizing the entire kids shoes rack before walkie talkie back to the guy in the back for a shoe. I was being extremely nice because I thought maybe they were having a bad day. However, as nice as I was I wasn’t even treated like a human."
"This store has the rudest employees of all the stores inside Lynnhaven Mall. Customer Service is non-existent and the employees feel like they aren't there to help the customers but just there to collect a paycheck. Asked an employee for a shoe size and employee confirmed it was available and waited 30 minutes. Even after waiting 30 minutes, closing time came and store manager then asked why we were there only to tell us that they didn't have the shoe size without checking. Then the employee who had confirmed they had the size said they forgot about us and that they had one available. They were more concerned about closing the store on time and neglected the waiting customer. The worst part of this was making the customer feel like they were a nuisance. Store employees had no remorse for making customer wait, and were angry that the customer were disappointed because they were upset for waiting that long. It goes to show why the reviews are so low for this store. The so called Manager was the one more concerned about closing the store on time and treated us like we were a nuisance. Don't go shopping here, many other stores to shop at. Hopefully the executives at JDSports can see this and address this issue with customer service that seems to be a reoccuring issue at this store. Would definitely be interested in what they have to say. Update: 8/27/23. So I read the response from the owner, asking me to contact them so I can chat with them about the experience but the site they provided only leads you to the main JDSports website which doesn't even allow you to chat with a customer service representative. You can call them but then they say that they can't do anything and they dont understand why the owner provided the link to the site. Wow."
