About the Business
Crater Community Hospice Thrift Shop, located at 3916 South Crater Road in Petersburg, Virginia, is a store dedicated to providing financial support for hospice care to patients in need. With a mission to "Celebrate Life Every Day", the Thrift Shop offers a wide range of high quality, affordable merchandise to the community. Donations of gently used clothing, books, sporting goods, furniture, and household items are accepted at both the Petersburg and Midlothian locations. Managed by Rick Bowman and Assistant Manager Charlotte Williams, the store is grateful for all donations and asks that items be donated during normal store hours. All proceeds from the Thrift Shop go towards offsetting the costs of patient care for families in the community. Items that don't sell may be recycled to further support the hospice's mission. Gently used furniture donations are accepted as long as they are in resaleable condition and come from a smoke-free environment with minimal wear and tear. Prior to dropping off furniture or requesting a pick-up, donors are asked to complete a form available on the institution's website. For more information, contact (804) 526-4300 or email [email protected]. Thank you for your support!

"My favorite thrift store ever! My Mom and I love chatting with Melissa and love the variety they have and the constant sales. :)"
"This is a pretty good thrift store as far as selection although it is much smaller than their location on Midlothian turnpike. They have monthly sales and daily sales, prices are good, but some are a bit outrageous. Like many thrift stores someone doing the pricing seems to see many items as potential priceless antiques and it just isn't so. I also saw many damaged items today and I feel that damaged items either need to be thrown out or very cheap, like 25 cents, not several dollars or more. And only one of these damaged items I saw was even marked "As is". In the past I have made some nice purchases so I continue to go. Other then price and condition I also deducted a star for the no bathroom policy. All the Goodwills I go to have bathrooms. My friend needed to go today and he was told they don't have any open for customers. My friend is well into his 60s and every person I saw in there today was older. I think the no bathroom policy is a poor one."
