"Not to impressed with this place. The spaghetti sauce was basically just tomato paste, the bread they gave us was burned. Don’t think about going on a Friday night it was extremely loud, the workers were chaotic almost rushing us to eat. The hostess were high schoolers who couldn’t wipe down a table, and sprayed windex all over which stunk while eating. The food was nothing close to authentic italian, bland, i’d rather eat at olive garden."

"We ate here on Christmas Eve, with reservations. The service was friendly, amistphere great with fireplace and the food was great with very large portions. The price was reasonable for the food and service you are receiving. I'd highly recommend."

"To begin, the fresh garlic bread is worth the trip alone! I ordered a second portion! The food and the atmosphere are unmatched! The antipasto offered an explosion of flavors and the Italian sausage with my pasta was as authentic as it comes, perfect amount of fennel! Collett gave us the best service during the busiest night!"

"Our food was marvelous as always. We had their popular lasagna which was perfect, the special- white lasagna which was also great, the Marsala which was a bit too sweet, but still good, and the Diablo which was great. We received a small plate of bread (1 slice for each of us) and asked for more bread which came after dinner right before our check. Megan recommended an excellent wine for 3 of us and I ordered a glass separately. My drink arrived a good 15 minutes after their wine. I would have enjoyed a second glass but our waitress seemed to disappear on us for quite a while. None of our dishes were removed as emptied and our small table in the middle of the floor was very crowded. The restaurant is very loud and conversation was almost impossible. I would recommend you seek a table away from bar or central area. Most significantly, we saw some friends come in and asked our waitress to bring them cheesecake from us. The friends finished their meal, received their bill, paid, and one left before our waitress brought them dessert. That was such a disappointment. The second table of friends left before they got any of their dessert as well. I was not charged for theirs. Still, the food was excellent, Megan was great. Our friends said they would probably not come back because of the noise and the lack of service from our waitress."

"Restaurants like Zia Marie are the reason we sometimes wish there was an extra special “10-Star” rating that users could give out only once per year. Businesses like this restore faith that there still exists entrepreneurs focused on superb service, and demand perfection of the plates sent from the kitchen. Time got away from us while visiting friends in Virginia Beach so at the impossible our of 9:30 we finally started the “Where should we eat?” conversation. Zia Marie was open and Italian sounded perfect. First, they called to be sure we were still going to make it and assured us not to stress on time, they would still give us full menu access and the experience we deserved. Upon arrival we were once again told not to worry about rushing our entrée, selections or eating quickly that we should take our time and take all the time we need it. Food was spectacular and EXTREMELY AUTHENTIC. The grilled octopus was the best we’ve had. Period. Every dish was simply incredible and cooked the way it should be. You will hear the sound of authentic Italian accents echoing across the restaurant & smell that beautiful butter and garlic Italian food aroma. If in town for ONE night and have only ONE restaurant to pick, hand down Zia Marie. You can thank me later."
