Ray's Ny Pizza

"This little strip mall secret has become my favorite pizza spot and one I gladly drive half an hour for! The slices are so big that one is sufficient to stave off any hunger attacks. The pizza sauce is just the right amount and very flavorful. I order a special pizza and it never disappoints. The dough is handmade and stretched to perfection. The toppings are all fresh and generous. You will need to fold the slice in half, roll the slice up or use a knife and fork to devour every single mouth-watering bite, They have freshly grated Parmesan cheese, red chili flakes and oregano. Truly a delight for your mouth and spirit. They have a lunch special of 2 cheese slices and a drink for a reasonable price. It does get pricey when adding additional toppings but for my tastes, it is worth it ."

"I use to come here a lot for pizza when I worked in Norfolk. Food was always great and friendly people. However, today I suggested Rays to a couple of friends. They went in and no one was dining in…. So they were the only people there. Not one staff member greeted or even asked if they could be helped. So of course they turned around and took their business else where!! Customer service doesn’t cost a thing but will affect a business tremendously. I will never recommend or suggest them to anyone! Please take some customer service classes."

"My brother told me this was the best pizza in Virginia Beach so I tried it last weekend and came back again this weekend. The prices are good, the staff is friendly, the food is amazing!!! Best calzone I have ever had in my life, the cheesy garlic knots are delicious, the wings are good, the pizza is great. This is definitely my favorite spot now."

"So, your Burrito is never going to live this one down… I called the Ray’s Pizza that I thought was the one near our house. When we went to pick up our order, Dumpling reported they did not have it. I checked then number I dialed and sure enough it was for another Ray’s - who would have thought?! We are traveling farther, but we’ve now tried this Ray’s. We got an 18” 1/2 cheese and 1/2 pepperoni and mushroom pizza and a sausage and meatball calzone. Burrito says the topping to sauce ratio was on point, but the crust lost me and seemed over floured, tasteless, and not great. The calzone was must better, but the toppings were concentrated in the middle leaving the ends merely a little cheesy, but meatless. Dumpling expected a lighter thinner crust also from a NY style pizzeria. We would not drive out of our way again, but would give it another try if we lived nearby. Appreciate a man that gives visual aides next to the sizes he says things are. See pics."

"I grew up in NYC and there use to be a place called “Famous Ray’s”. I did not expect a pizza join this far from home to be that good and I was not disappointed. However they serve a decent pizza. They also have other NY style foods such as Calzones. The staff was nice enough and they keep the place clean. If you are in the mood for a slice it is worth stopping in."
