"They’ve got grit! Up at Sunrise Country Breakfast and Brunch is located on Lakeside Drive near the quickie food store. Traffic patterns vary greatly & will depend on the date of the week and hour of dining. Wed-Fri 7-2 & weekends 7am-3 pm. We visited on Sunday morning at 8 am and traffic/parking was great. We sat at the counter and were welcomed by Emmie. She has a great personality and stellar food handling skills(no fingers in the plated areas). The food was honestly presented and the Grit Bowl was a huge hit! I can’t comment on the specialty drinks as I had my own coffee. Silverware was clean and of good quality. Delicious pastries are made in-house, (pictured is the meat pie, frittata, and blueberry muffin). The kitchen was clean, back of grill grease free, food covered, hand washing sinks included, hand towels, signage soap, and trash cans. The bathrooms were clean and included changing tables. Infection control included: non latex gloves, limited contact wait for guests if desired and the use of labeled sanitizing solutions to clean tables & other areas. I would have preferred they used pastry baskets that lacked a porous cloth insert even with tissue use in the event of coughing/ sneezing. I was told that these are also cleaned in addition to the baskets that contain the pastries."
"Just wow! Finally a restaurant that gets it. They didn’t just raise the bar for brunch spots in LYH they set a whole new precedent. What an incredible experience and menu! From the amazing and imaginative coffee drinks (we all ordered one), the cutest little brunch appetizer basket, and some of the best brunch food I’ve had anywhere even outside of LYH. I ordered the Latke Benedict which was fab! The latkes are fried in chicken fat, the ham was perfectly crunchy on the edges and the poached egg was the 100% the right amount of drip. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient right down to their adorable uniforms; this place can do no wrong! Can’t wait to come back!!!"
"So delicious! The biscuits are huge! They have breakfast and brunch! Sit at the bar for the most fun! Faye was our waitress. She was so fun to talk to and excellent service. I had a spiced apple latte hot! So good! Big portions too!"
"Great first experience at County Sunrise. The Lavender London fog drink wasn't that good for being almost $7. The food was delicious, though (we got chicken and waffles & the 2lb burrito). The overall atmosphere was good, but the items on the menu were a little pricey. Music was a little loud for being 7am, but besides that, 5/5 stars. Our waitress was very sweet and welcoming!"
"New favorite breakfast place, THE breakfast place in Lynchburg. Don’t get me wrong, Lynchburg is full of outstanding breakfast spots, but this takes the cake in my personal opinion. From the presentation, to the friendly service, hot coffee and smoked meats, this is why this place takes first place in local breakfast places. I’ve never had such amazing breakfast meats. From smoked bacon cooked to perfection to the pastrami hash, meats are out of this world. We’ve been searching for a breakfast place that serves good hash, I’m not talking out of the can nasty hash, but good hash. NOT ONLY is this hash good, it’s smoked to that County Smok perfection we’ve all come to know and love. Go get breakfast or lunch here, you will not be disappointed."
