My Dog Duke's Diner

"Being a dog lover, I really want to love and honor this restaurant. The place is adorable with various dog portraits hung on the walls. As a vegetarian (who doesn't eat eggs) I was disappointed at the lack of options. (See menu). A note to the owners, a lot of your options could be vegetarian friendly, given an opportunity to take out the meat or eggs - for example, the avocado sandwich would be great minus the eggs! If you are wondering why don't I just order without the eggs - well, if you are a life-long vegetarian like me you become quite resentful of paying for things you don't eat in the first place. A restaurant though should be able to care for different dietary preferences, if they care to. I feel that My Dog Duke's Diner might be a restaurant that cares so I request them to make their menu a bit vegetarian/vegan friendly, because I want to go here again and I know many vegetarians are hungry and looking for options in Lynchburg. My vegetarian daughter and I got the Avocado Toast and the Belgian Waffles ordered with Tiramisu sauce. The toast was good, but the waffles were great! First time here - and we were seated immediately on a Friday afternoon and service was quick."

"Great Brunch spot, I had the skillet, can’t wait to go back. Months later, I returned to Duke’s and am ecstatic to report the consistency of food quality and staff professionalism. We arrived 40 minutes prior to closing and Duke’s Staff happily my party and the food quality didnt waver. Get yourself to Duke’s, its not “Diner Like” at all. Additionally, the staff interchangeably waited on us, and all were extremely kind"

"First time here! We had a 45 minute wait so did some window shopping. When our table was ready, they sent us a text and we were seated immediately. Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. Four of us with different entrees but all were served at the same time. Steel cut oatmeal, veggie omelette, eggs Benedict, and salmon eggs Benedict. Our meals were delicious!"
