"There is no one more qualified or caring to help with mental health issues. Kimberly goes above and beyond. Erie is so blessed to have the best!"
"I have struggled with my experiences with Kimberly for years now. I was utilizing her services for diagnosed OCD, and I fought long and hard to get through her waitlist to be with the “best or the best” for my supposed diagnosis. When I got in with her, I really had a hard time trusting her. I felt as if her regimented approach to exposure/response prevention left little space for me to talk about my other anxieties, fears, and pains in life. Late in my time in her practice, I made a suicide attempt in my door room. I was unwilling to keep living in the excruciating pain I was facing everyday, and I was struggling to grieve how much of my childhood and young adulthood I had lost to my emotional intensity. While in the hospital after, they diagnosed me with BPD. I did not agree with this diagnosis, and learned down the road that my regular psychiatrist and other support professionals did not either. Kimberly, however, called me in the hospital to tell me that I was simply “too sick” for her to help now, and I needed to go off to residential treatment if I ever wanted my university to let me back on campus. This quote stuck with me for years, and dramatically increased my anxiety around talking to mental health professionals and campus employees about suicide and depression. I felt that if I said too much while in a crisis, I would be blamed for the losses I was facing and would lose the few people I trust with my full and uncensored story. I appreciate that Kimberly is such an incredible role model and expert for so many people. I LOVE that she is bringing her passion and clinical expertise to Erie, a town with few specialized services for those of us with misunderstood diagnoses, but I am still very hurt by what she said (3 or 4 years ago now), and very concerned about her invalidating approach to my situation, considering many people with serious anxiety disorders face hopelessness, suicide, and depression as well."
