"I have never seen Dr. Turner, but I had an unfortunate and frustrating experience when speaking with one of her medical group nurses. I made an appointment with Dr. Turner for minor, nagging symptoms (which are not new - I have had them before in years past), but after speaking with the scheduling staff member, one of the medical group nurses came on the line to further discuss my symptoms; assumably to ensure an appointment with Dr. Turner was an appropriate course of action. This polite, but clearly nervous nurse ended up cancelling my appointment and told me to go to urgent care or the ER... again, this was for *minor* symptoms (e.g., no fever, no change in overall status, normal output, 2-3/10 pain, etc.) which I have experienced before in the past. I tried emphasize this information to the nurse - that this was FAR from an urgent matter and I could most certainly wait two days to see Dr. Turner. (At almost 40 years old, one would expect I know my body well enough to recognize whether or not I need to be immediately seen.) This nurse refused to listen, insisted that I be seen ASAP, and frequently interrupted me during our brief conversation. I felt like I was being treated like a child, and it was quite an upsetting and belittling experience. So... following the nurse's medical recommendation (because he made it seem like something could seriously be wrong with me) my husband lost half a day's pay of work for me to go to the ER, where I waited for hours, went through a battery of uncomfortable tests, and wasted everyone's time and money... because the ER doctor to tell me EXACTLY what I knew - I have a small ovarian cyst, and he recommended I follow up with a gynecologist. LOL. Well... that's why I was trying to make an appointment with Dr. Turner in the first place! Now, I understand this was nothing personal and that there is a medical-legal protocol this nurse was trained to follow. But I question which of my symptoms indicated an urgent situation that couldn't wait two days until I saw Dr. Turner. (I am glad my phone call was recorded so that it may be used to educate staff in the future.) I would like to gently suggest to this nurse (and the medical group for which he works) that clinical judgment override checklists. Respect your patients: treat them like the intelligent adults they are; not helpless children. Really listen to them. Because doing so would save everyone a lot of time, money, and stress. Because of this unnecessary frustrating experience, I will not be following up with Dr. Turner, and will look for a physician elsewhere."
"It doesn't matter How good you are or are not. I was placed on hold twice for a total of half an hour. If I'm unable to talk with someone or to even leave a message, I don't want you in my life. This message is to cancel my appointment for Thursday October first, 2020. I would also like you to reimburse me for my time and the insult of being disregarded. $100.00 , you have my address."
"She may be a good surgeon but gives 0 patient care 0 pain management after what I’ve gone thru I wouldn’t recommend her or the disgusting surgery center she works from"
