"Excellent vegetarian restaurant with lots of vegan options as well. The food is super tasty and flavorful. The protein plant is interesting texture though. Definitely isn't for everyone. The gobi Manchurian was fire though! Dosa we're solid but not anything out of this world..overall definitely recommend checking this place out."
"We were excited to see a highly rated vegetarian Indian restaurant and decided to give jt a try. We have Indian food about once a week, for years now, so we know what everything should taste like. The service is not the best, they are friendly but don’t check on you often. It’s a shame too, bc you pay upfront, including a tip. I had expected more. The biryani was a total let down, nothing like we have ever tasted. The potatoes in the Dosas was more like mashed potatoes than chunks. And the seasoning was bland. The plain rice was tasty. The butter “chicken”’was good, a bit sweeter than anticipated, but good. The veg korma was ok. Samosas were ok."
"The best southindian food I’ve had so far! Oo the coconut chutney they make is so authentic. I’m from mangalore so yeah I know how a coconut chutney tastes. Will definitely be back when in DC. The appam and veg stew was super delicious also!!"
"Really tasty! I love the spongy bread that came with the Appam, which was also very yummy. The dosa and the samosa chaat were also delicious. The prices were reasonable. Everyone was very nice. Definitely gonna be a go-to neighborhood spot."
"Cannot recommend Veganesha highly enough!! It has a full menu of all of the Indian food that I love the most - dosas, chaats, and dishes from Kerala. So far, we have tried the Mysore dosa, appam with stew, samosa chaat, and parotta, all of which were delicious. The prices are also so reasonable! We're excited that they are now open until 9pm, so we can stop by for dinner. We feel lucky to have this spot in our neighborhood and will be making lots of return trips."
