"I would give a zero star but I can’t before submitting. I went here yesterday (November 3rd) (Room 1 for the first three draws) the paper in the tray that they use to put their supplies in had a dark red stain on it. I want to assume it was from iodine but it appeared to not have been changed the last three times I was in room one for my order. I feel like that is a huge issue and should have been investigated. I would have felt comfortable saying something but I overheard a conversation between the two people in the front that was quite unpleasant. No one wants to catch something. I need to feel safe and I don’t think I will be going back and will be bringing this up with my doctor. Also, no one return my call from patient services about this either."
"The staff here is kind and pleasant. They can get super busy at this location certain times of day but the staff do their best to work quickly and efficiently checking people in and drawing blood. Telanda (I probably misspelled her name so I apologize) was wonderful and super sweet to work with today. I had to bring my 4 year old daughter with me while I got my blood drawn and Telanda went out of her way to compliment my daughter on her behavior and interact with her during our visit. I don’t enjoy getting blood work done but it’s much easier when the folks doing it are pleasant. Thank you Solomons labcorp for making my many visits a painless experience."
"Ok so let’s me start off by saying, there was no one at the desk to greet or to let anyone know what to do, there was a patient in the waiting room who informed me of what to do. One receptionist came to the window and called 2 patients and then walked away and never came back. The lab tech Keisha came to the desk, I guess she having a bad day her bed side manner was horrible called part of my child's name, can you say Attitude. So we get to the back she speaks to my under age child the whole time asked her all the question "um hello I thought I was the parent" Keisha clearly knew how to draw blood, due to my child not crying however she could use some customer service classes. This was my first and it will be my last time coming to this facility. Can you say first impression. Office training is very effective # firstimpressioniseverthing!!!"
"I visited the Lexington Park location at 12:15 on 9/27/23. The tech Florence C. was not very professional. She almost hit me in the face with the door, when she pushed it open. I told her she almost hit me and she acted like she wanted to fight (attitude). I told her to use a butterfly needle, she ignored me. She was not a pleasant person."
"Friday is one of their busier days. I arrived at 0835 and checked in via a tablet, then was called to give insurance and to verify the lab orders. I did not have an appointment. Even so, and with a very busy waiting room, I did not wait long. The lab technician doing the blood draw was, courteous, professional and efficient. I will return if I need future blood work. Suggestions to LabCorps: you could dramatically improve customer experience and quality of work-life for your employees by hiring an administrator. Their were vulnerable patients, elderly patients on prosthetic limbs trying to check in with a tablet. I had a question concerning my checkin and the staff would certainly have answered it, but a person cannot sit at the administration desk and also draw blood. The tablet cannot answer questions, nor show any courtesy or compassion. Your customers are often business people themselves and can see plainly where decisions to increase profit margins have sacrificed quality of patient experience and staff quality of work-life. Your lab technicians are very busy drawing labs, which is the actual reason they are hired. An administrator would be able to relieve the administrative mission creep on your technical staff, whose primary concern is dealing with a high quality of service in the area of invasive lab work (meaning pressing needles into a human body in order to withdraw from that body life blood). This needs care and attention and I greatly appreciate and do not take for granted people who are able to do this at a professional level. The tablet cannot answer check in questions, check and verify insurance coverage or take payments. A single administrator could do all of these things quickly as well as assist patients and improve quality of care. The bottleneck is the admin. The process of drawing blood takes minutes, but the wait is extended simply because there is not a qualified and designated administrator. This is not an area where you should cut costs. It is the reason for any bad reviews in here. The technical staff is very good at the work they do. You should honor them by listening to them, and honor your customers by listening to us. Hire an administrator. Your patient population would benefit as well, since they themselves often have to request time off work for labs, and have busy schedules and responsibilities - the bottleneck is the administrative task of answered questions about the check in tablet, and verifying insurance (which requires looking up the company, coverage, and checking the lab codes against the coverage list). Hiring a single administrator at this location would turn it 5 stars in less than a month (meaning the bulk of reviews overall would be 4-5 stars). Why a month? There is that much traffic through this office."
